#CES: Mercedes-Benz TEASES The All-new CLA-Class, Again — This Time With Fancy Interior Lights
We're just around the corner from the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Held in Las Vegas, it is the go-to event for anyone in the technology sector.

And now it's one of the more important places for automotive manufacturers to pop up at. Good bye, Detroit.

Mercedes-Benz will not be at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). Instead it's focusing on CES. The two vehicles slated to debut are the all-electric EQC sport-utility vehicle and the all-new CLA-Class, which is making its world premiere.

We're expecting it to take a lot from the all-new A-Class. Expect its powertrains to be carried over. And as you'll see in this all-new teaser clip of its interior, it too will be heavily lifted from the A-Class.

The three-pointed star will be debuting what it calls Interior Assistant at CES. As of now, we have zero clue as to what that means but we're thinking its going to consist of a combination of sensors and, perhaps, artificial intelligence to provide a more friendly in-cabin experience. In the short clip below, you'll see a driver reach into the passenger area and the interior lights automatically illuminate that area. Nifty, sure, but not sure it's a big deal.

Mercedes better have more up its sleeve. According to reports, it will deliver.

They also just scored the best selling luxury brand of the year despite inventory issues, followed closely by Bimmer And Lexus in the US.

The A Class and GLE should prove successful for them this year. I just wish they went harder on the all new upcoming electric EQ model, expected much more from them

Wow... you wave your hand an interior light comes on!! This is SO incredibly groundbreaking in 2019.

It likely costs about $3.00 to include. But it will only be available as part of a "Luxury Package" costing thousands.

Right who knew something so simple would take so long for manufacturers to implement, and to think it debuts in the cheapest Benz, one of those things where u say, why isn’t everyone doing that for safety reasons alone?!?!

I can dig it

LOL I love it the idea of ppl taking both hands off the steering wheel to clap and the distracted teens/adults dropping their phones in the process, insurance companies would have field day, not to mention ambulance chasers! LMAO

This is why there is a rush to develop and market autonomous vehicles. Car makers will finally be able to offer all the doodads they ever wanted and not have to worry about(in theory) vehicles crashing into one another. Think of the markup packages they will be able to offer.

Think about the sheer boredom of owning a car.
