#CES: FIRST REAL-LIFE Pics Of The 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA Emerge — What Do YOU Think? Is It A STUD or DUD?
The 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has grown in its significance to the automotive industry. Not only has it been reflected over the past two days but Mercedes-Benz decided to really underscore that this year.
That's because Mercedes unveiled the all-new CLA-Class at CES. Keep in mind the CLA is not a hybrid or full electric vehicle. It's just a basic, entry-level luxury vehicle with four doors.

Mercedes' press release about the 2020 CLA
HERE!
That should tell you something about CES as an event as well as who the three-pointed star is targeting to buy its second-gen CLA.
Having said that, I wanted to share with you the very first real-life pictures of the all-new, 2020 CLA. The show car was painted a rather bright red, which is a bold choice for the German manufacturer.
This differs from the show car that was snapped in studio images. That car was dubbed the Edition and according to what we're hearing we won't receive that special edition CLA in the U.S. market. That's probably a good thing because those orange accents are pretty damn cheesy.
So, what say you, Spies?
Now that you're getting a look at the 2020 CLA in these real-life pictures, do YOU think it's a STUD or DUD?

It’s definitely an improvement especially the dashboard display. It still has to be priced in the mid$30s because the C300 is just a much better car (RWD & much smoother transmission) which starts in the low$40s. But in the end, I think the upcoming A220 will not only replace but do better than the old CLA and this new CLA will be a lost soul. May have been better if they just make it a 2 door coupe.

If anything, the A-sedan will take sales from the A3 and the CLA will continue with its sales range of 1500-2000 per month. The last few years proved that there is room in the market for the CLA despite the alternative of the more practical A3. Buyers are drawn to the stylish approach of the CLA, and not needing a rear seat. If anything, the A-sedan may take sales from the C-sedan.

What was totally wrong about the last one was the tail and they have completely fixed that. Proportions are better here.

...the tail...and the interior...should be a hit.

Exterior not much changes from current CLA, still ugly, and confused with the line up. Would rather get A-class instead, otherwise spend more and get C-Class.

How is this confused with the the lineup with regard to styling? C-Coupe, E-Coupe, S-Coupe, CLA, AMG GT 4Dr - there is clear continuity with the new CLA.

Not sure I'd call it a stud, but definitely better than outgoing model and much more appealing than the A-Sedan.

Looks like a C200 or whatever chevy that is or a Corolla near the rear quarte3r panel. Looks like a Kia in the front... I wish they would stop making these canalized cars just so people can get in the brand. Buy a fully loaded Accord, Camry, etc and get a much better vehicle for the price.

Blacked out B pillar came from Volkswagen. The side profile is off the 2008 Camry. Headlights off Mitsubishi Lancer.
