GM Expected To Post STRONG Earnings - Appoints Cadillac To Lead EV Charge
General Motors expects to boost earnings this year in the aftermath of a strong 2018 that the automaker said exceeded its guidance and internal expectations.

The healthy 2019 forecast includes earnings per share of $6.50-$7 and adjusted free cash flow between $4.5 billion and $6 billion. That compares with 2018 EPS guidance of $5.80 to $6.20 — a key indicator for Wall Street — and automotive free cash flow of $4 billion, which the automaker on Friday said it expects to beat when it reports year-end results on Feb. 6.

This could work really well if they give Cadillac the same flash that it had in the 50s and 60s as the premium EV market explodes. The CT/XT type of alphanumeric naming WON'T WORK.

Gee that worked out great last time with the ELR.

I might work out better if Cadillac brought back names to the lineup. It should tell management something that really the only product they sell which has 'cred' (and good demo's) is the 'Escalade'.

I wish the management consultant who started telling automakers in the 1990's that their luxury name brand (i.e. Cadillac, Acura, Infiniti) should be promoted at all costs over the product model (Eldorado, Legend, Intega, etc), could come forward and just admit that was terrible advice.

Bring back names.

You mean the ELR AKA the Cimarron EV?

Make Escala a Model S competitor.

Both the ELR and CT6 PHEV were underappreciated, delayed, and perhaps way overpriced. This shouldn't be an either/or proposition for GM, it is no longer 2011. At this stage all brands and models need to have an electric version.

The ELR was overpriced by $40K LOL
The CT6 PHEV was nothing special.
