Lexus Could Enter The Drop Top Market With LC Luxury Coupe

Lexus will show a much-anticipated concept droptop version of its recently introduced LC luxury coupe at next week's Detroit auto show.

The Lexus LC convertible concept shares most of the properties of the LC coupe that went on sale in mid-2017 but is about a half-inch longer.

Tadao Mori, the convertible concept's chief designer, said in a statement the car "blends all the best aspects of the original coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible."

Still don't know why LC and 911 provides the backseat that doesn't work. Just change it to a nice cargo compartment.

believe it's due to the classification of the vehicle as opposed to no backseat and maybe different rules/regulations apply

It is because a 2 seater costs more to insure than a 4 seater.

I give Lexus major points for trying but the LC just isn't selling...too heavy and less dynamic handling for avid sports car crowd and too low and expensive for seniors, everyone in the middle is buying SUV's.

This will help sales.

A niche within a niche will not have a big impact. This will sell in the dozens unfortunately.

The cowl is impossibly high or the seating position is impossibly low. Or both. It scares me to think of all of those rich females around 5’3” and below are driving this with virtually no idea what’s in front of them except a steering wheel.

My wife is tall and her LC swallows her sort of.
