#NAIAS: Even MORE Toyota Supra Images Leak! Get A FIRST Look At Its INTERIOR...
I sound like a broken record at this point.

Yes, Spies, that's right. There's been a release of even MORE images of the all-new, fifth-generation Toyota Supra. And this time, you're getting a proper look at the production interior.

In addition, there's a pretty snappy silver Supra that I have to admit looks way better than the red car we've been accustomed to seeing at this stage.

On the inside, which has yet to be seen until today, you'll note there's a lot of BMW switchgear. This isn't too much of a surprise as the spy shots showed many of these bits previously. It's just an awful lot of BMW inside this Toyota.

Is this a bit weird considering it's somewhat of a legacy model for Toyota?

I'll let the Spies pick apart the pieces that are directly lifted from BMW, but it's patently obvious.

Stay tuned to AutoSpies.com for the latest #NAIAS-related breaking news!

It simply doesn't matter.

Nice silver... looks so much nicer than stupid red
Interior seems to be infected with BMW philosophy(or is it Toyota's?)- Solid, but cheap.
Alignment of air vent, dash control, and gear stick play the center/re-center, but there's not much distance between sifted axes, so it kinda looks like a mistake.

No kidding on the silver, best silver I've seen since the LachsSlver BMW e30 M3s. Not sure how it looks so good even in pictures on various people's PCs/Macs with screens all tuned differently :).

I just think it needed two important things. 1 - Toyota engine tuned my TRD. 2 - The looks are good it just needs to be longer in the back, these two changes would have made this car great.

Bloated and ugly.

That brace is on the wrong side of the shifter for a left hand drive. Forces you to reach over it?

I really like the interior color combo, but why is the right door panel not red to match the left side?

We shall see.

I am sure there will be a mention of asymmetry and the vehicle being driver oriented...

I just hope there will be a manual transmission and it will be a lot better looking in person. As it is, the interior is all bmw, not a bad thing because all previous supra had cheap interior anyways. Price is pretty much what I expected all along. But it is underpowered at 382 in this day and age. And it is a lot smaller, especially the rear width, than I expected.

Well it is a certainly Cab Rear design. I'm still a little unsure of the looks. At times it appears as if they took the GT86/BRZ and elongated the front hood along with a few more scallops and scoops. To me there seems to be a design lineage from that car, just a lot more aggressive. Interior wise I like the simplicity. While it does have clear BMW hardware its design is certainly distinct from the Z4's. But you know what I like most is the price. For the Base car 6 cylinder at 49.9K and the upper model at 53K that represents a pretty good value over a Z4. You figure its a bit better in the handling department and perhaps a little lighter. Further you have to figure that the 4 cylinder is going come in the low 40K range. That's should put some pressure on the Boxster/Cayman. it will be interesting to see what Porsche prices the Boxster/Cayman T at in the US. My guess is closer to the Supra. To be clear 382 HP is NOT underpowered considering that's what Porsche has for the previous base 911 Carrera. Of course less than Mustang and Camaro V8's. However this is a much smaller/lighter car. Power to weight ratio is the more important number.

I'm with you on almost all your points, however I think enthusiasts who want a Supra may be put off by the close BMW affinities of this car. They want a Japanese Supra, not a FrankenZilla Supra. Maybe the suspension and handling differences along with the exterior styling will be enough to draw the faithful, but I do not think it will.

The car's dashboard was obviously designed as RHD given the center console being backward. This looks as cheap as a Dodge Dart's interior.

Photoshop error?

I do not believe it was designed RHD. I think this is simply what they intended — to me it makes no sense to have that ridge/"Oh sh!t" handle there.

Definitely not a PS error...

Well now we know that the horsepower figures are lower at 335. A little disappointing. I guess overall a little disappointed as Toyota is one of the biggest and richest companies in the world. Further they have sports coupes that the've produced and they have the RCF and LFC coupes. It just seems to me that they could have kept it straight Japanese. And then I had a re-look at the concept car. That further disappointed me as the production car has been simply too toned down. I'm not saying that the production car is bad. I'm just saying it could have been a bit more. Obviously Toyota was trying to save money here. Of course in addition the car is being built in (I think) Graz, Austria. So really this is nothing more than a BMW Coup with a very swoopy design and conservative simple BMW interior. Look the car has good hardware in it and certainly there is an opportunity to up the horsepower on a turbo motor. Finally you don't get a manual which again I think was done for cost reasons. I think I'm more annoyed with Toyota taking the easy way out rather than the car itself. It may turn out to be a great driving sports car. Just as well it does not have a manual as it would be a half to 3/4 of a second slower 0-60. Also its not that light at 3400 LBS. Therefore unless Toyota has tuned the transmission to be really quick I find it a bit hard to believe a 4.1 0-60. It is certainly heavier than a 718 Cayman and Cayman S.
