GM CEO Says She "Understands" The Uproar Over Lost Jobs

GM CEO Says She
General Motors CEO Mary Barra said she "understands" the political pushback and outcry around the company's decision to end production and potentially close up to five plants in North America.

While Wall Street praised the decisions, the company has faced mounting pressure from the UAW, politicians and the Canadian union Unifor, which launched a media campaign against the company.

Well what do you think would happen when 2 countries bail your incompetent ass out for Billions that you fail to fully repay and then you export those jobs to China and Mexico thereby fucking over your 2 biggest domestic markets. Shocking really.

What planet are living on? You want the government to cram two companies together and think that's a good idea. Come on man. That's a slippery slope we do not want to go down.

The world is upside down when so-called Republicans want to tell private business who to hire, what to do and where to do it.

Let the free market decide.

As the Fascist-Socialist Liberal you are, you will lie for effect: "Let the free market decide." That is an anathema to you and your horrid tribe of miscreants.

I'm a capitalist. I have no idea what you are - your positions seem to straddle both sides of each argument, and you struggle to explain yourself by using vocabularly incorrectly.

You so AREN'T a capitalist. You're 100% the opposite, but your tribe lies to suit your argument. So #hypocrisy is expected and delivered by you every time you speak.

Oh Darringer is a clear Right Wing Tea Party Republican.(Which of course is his every right to be) You need to read a lot of his past posts. One typical way you can tell is the way he employs name calling-IE-Facist-Socialist Liberal in his most current post. Of course he forgot to use Left Wing or Ultra Left Wing. But then again carloslassiter you baited him by using the term so-called Republicans so what do you expect. But getting back on topic for a moment GM still suffers from an old school car culture that is trying to change itself into a sleek modern scaled down company. Further the've had simply too many same overlapping models. True it is better than it used to be but they have not gone far enough. Unfortunately GM like Ford and Chrysler have not been able to build a competitive product in a sedan and compact car with the same kind of quality(or perception of quality!)that the Japanese and the Koreans have been able to do. Which is why they are starting to pull out of the market like Ford and Chrysler have done. But electric cars are clearly a viable future that all car makers now see. I actually could see some car company acquiring Tesla as I do not see them standing on their own for a lot longer. Would it be GM. I don't know. Initially that would go against there plan of making a streamlined company that is a lot more automated. Further they do have EV technology already. I could see them buying a battery company perhaps or get involved with EV infrastructure.
