2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Series Allocation Sells Out In Hours

Amid reports of Cadillac not dropping the CT6 from the U.S. market, here’s other refreshing news for fans of the American luxury sedan.

Cadillac announced the high-performance 2019 CT6 V-Series powered by the Blackwing engine, sold out this week in mere hours after the company started accepting preorders. As part of the preparation for the launch this summer, Cadillac started taking preorders the morning of January 14.

Tell Ray Donovan that.

They should have launched this car with the V8 2 years ago and focus on big American luxury. Instead they focused their PR on the 4 cyl.
I hope they do not cancel the car.

Completely agree and if the "Blackwing" (stupid name, seems they spent more time on creating that name than on marketing the vehicle itself) was not ready then the CTS-V engine should have been in it or at least the current Corvette V8. They needed to make a huge statement the day it was launced 2 years ago and launching it w/4 vs an 8 was just stupid.... but then again thats GM... I hope they continue to build it in the US as well, importing a Cadillac flagship sedan from China will fail...

Curious to know how many vehicles were in this allocation.

I'd say 2.

Essentially, GM will allocate 1 to it's top Cadillac dealers so the "allocation sells out" is just GM pushing that number out to dealers. Vehicles pushed out to dealers is what manufacturers call "sales" or "orders". The cars may not be "sold" or even have been "ordered" as far as that goes.

Now factor in the Cadillac is killing the production of the CT6 in one plant without having a plan to continue production after deciding to kill the vehicle entirely.

I think this is an awesome car with an awesome engine & drive system. Just came a bit too late to positively help the brand - at least for perception purposes.

The V-series version is kinda cool. The model line needed the halo trim when it was initially introduced. Sucks that the model line will be discontinued.

The CT6 renamed Elmiraj, with a V8 as base and a CTS price would do the trick.

Instead of the CT5 call it Seville, give it a V6 as base and an A Class price and it would be a winner.

Ford's hastily contrived SuperFusion that is being marketed as the Lincoln Continental is simply better for being the American Luxury car that Cadillac forgot how to be.

They should have released the CT6 with a V8 as standard, and the hi-po V8 as their AMG version, all the while holding the line on prices.

Different names and bigger power options won’t do much as lowering those ridiculous prices. A 4 cyl “premium luxury” CT6 for $62k is laughable

That shows your ignorance of the automotive world. That tactic has been done a number of times.

I don't know, the Elmiraj concept was so stunning it would make me sad to see them use it on this car. Maybe make a stretched 2 door variant and call it the Elmiraj. Call this the Deville or Calais or something... I agree with that overall sentiment though. Cadillac needs to go back to the cool names that have some history in them. And actually make the bloody Elmiraj as a V12 and fully electric.

CT6 at $40k to $45k would be a foot in for Cadillac. It is too late now anyway.
