SPIED: Caught On Camera! The All-new Volkswagen Golf MKVIII Is Nabbed In The Nude
Here's something cool, Spies.

Spied fully in the buff is the all-new, next-gen Volkswagen Golf MKVIII (Golf 8). If you're a fan of small VWs then it should come as no big surprise that this eight-gen Golf is following a continued evolution.

Simply put, VW is not going to risk one of its entry-level, global volume sales leaders. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke," so they say.

While there's no interior shots, an Instagram user did catch the vehicles exterior. We've got both a front three-quarter shot as well as a rear three-quarter images. While the greenhouse is awfully familiar, the vehicle — overall — gets some sharper edges.

Given how the engineers are testing it very much out in the open, I suspect we'll be seeing a reveal in relatively short order.

Looks exactly what the next Golf should look like.

It looks exactly what the next Golf shouldn't look like i.e. every Golf before it except for the original which is a classic. This is more of the generic horrible that VW thinks is brilliant.

Sales in the USA will be even more dismal with this horrible mess. #KillTheGolf

A rehash in the same vein that Porsche does for the 911. It sells well in the rest of the world except the USA. The Jetta which is in current form inferior to drive is out selling it 5 to 1. VW is supposed bring in a smaller CUV then the Tiguan in the next year or so. When it does I predict it will be bye bye Golf in the US.

The Golf, Jetta, and Passat are such disastrously terrible products, they all need to go.

The American Passat was a hastily contrived insult of a SuperJetta cobbled together from an old platform and the new one is even more insulting for its mediocrity.

I seriously fail to see why anyone would choose a Jetta over a Civic. They aren't even close for excellence.

The Golf is just a very expensive nothing of a Sonic penalty box.

Always a fan of original and followup versions not so much, design wise.. However whenever I've driven one I come away impressed and understand why they are so popular.

I agree but there will alaways be VW customers and this will sell to them.

I hope Ford knows what it is doing with VW

The hardcore VW people are solid gold. They don't care about bad quality, class-trailing performance, horrible reliability, poor durability, and a Porsche-like cost to repair. To them it's a Volkswagen. We call them morons behind their backs.

I have always liked a GTI with plaid seats, but have never heard anything good about VW quality. Supposedly the MRK8 GTI will have 325hp coming from a tightly wound 2.0L TSFI engine. Time will tell.

If you're going to buy a VW, the ONLY one worth having is the GTI because it's the ONLY car that VW does that is class leading. It's better than a Cooper S, was better than the Focus ST, and definitely better than the Mercedes CLA that is somewhat similar in price. Its performance FWD that is so good that RWD doesn't come up. And if you know how to drive FWD to manipulate lift-throttle oversteer, the GTI is as much of a hoot to drive as a stick axle Shelby Mustang GT500KR from a few years back.

Well what the hell you can always buy an Alfa. But seriously VW sells these vehicles because they have been in this country selling cars since the 1950's. They have diehard fans. And if truth be told you have die hard Jeep fans and Jeeps are built like crap. People say this about all GM cars. Ford does not have a stellar track record either. Now Hyundai/Kia are having issues with engine fires. Is VW really any worse than some other makes. Maybe the only brand that is safe to buy is Lexus. Somehow, however their sales do not reflect this. At least Fiats have the capability to actually self diagnose and fix them selves. My 500X just accomplished this. Some how after months of not working the power drivers seat is functioning normally again.

mini22: Glad your seats fixed themselves. Truth is stranger then fiction.
