DRIVEN: IF The All-new Mazda 3 Has Some ZOOM ZOOM, Is That ALL It Needs To Beat Its Competition?
When it comes to entry-level fun, Mazda has always been a company that's been able to package up an entertaining offering. The Mazda 3 has, in recent years, been highly regarded for its ability and well-appointed interior.

But there's an all-new sheriff in town, Spies. An all-new 3 is here to play.

Did Mazda keep its ingredients the same or kick it up on a notch?

According to our friends across the pond at CAR magazine, it sounds like everything is moving in the right direction. With exception of the entry-level engine they tested, however. Stay tuned for the latest SkyActiv-X engine.

New Mazda 3: verdict

Less packhorse, then, and more race horse – at least it should be when it gets the engine it deserves. Even without it though the new Mazda 3 is an impressive newcomer in the busy family hatchback marketplace, depending, of course, on your priorities.

If you’re reading it here, we think you might find it just your kind of car. And enjoy driving it.

It beats the Model 3 and has a better interior.

The shape/angle of the info screen is in direct conflict with the rest of the dash design. It’s actually quite disturbing and kind of screams of a Lexus-like desperation to create “design”.

Mazdas are BoreBore. ZoomZoom is such a ridiculously optimistic slogan. The 3 hatchback is exceedingly terrible.

I was not very pretty in person from many angles.

Oh, that hump.

I would take this over anything else in it's class!

The sedan is not bad but previous generations were way nicer looking. The new hatch though is Kardashian-butt ass ugly and such a let down as the design really shits the bed and will be a sales disaster I predict...

A good looking car. I'm unsure of the hatches rear or 3/4 visibility. Quality looks to be best in class for the price. It shows you do not necessarily need the extra weight of an IRS for decent handling if the beam axle is properly engineered.
