Hyundai Prices Kona EV Where Base Tesla Model 3 Should Already Be, At Just $36,000

Hyundai already announced the base price of the Kona EV, its new all-electric version of the Kona crossover, in the US last year at $36,450 before incentives. But it has now released all the prices based on the different trims.

The Korean automaker has been aggressively pricing the vehicle in many markets.

It has been available in Korea and Europe for a few months now, but it’s just starting to arrive in the US.

Nobody (N-O-B-O-D-Y) shopping Tesla is going to cross shop a Kona. You can disagree (or go off on a bizarre rant and tell me I'm a racist), but it's a fact.

Style and image matters to many if not most car buyers, and unfortunately Kia isn't cool.

Do not underestimate the Koreans, they keep both the Japanese and the German automakers up at night.

I don't disagree with you.

But people don't buy Rolex watches because they keep great time. They don't. You can get a more accurate Casio at Walgreens. But there are other factors at play here and a lot of people are willing to pay for the image and status that they think some brands provide.

You don't have to like it, but pretending it doesn't exist is not a good business strategy.
