VW CEO to Step Down; To Be Replaced by Audi Boss
Big shakeups in the Wolfsburg community center today, Automotive News is reporting. Head V-dub, CEO Bernd "Fish Trousers" Pischetsrieder is leaving at the end of the year, to be replaced by Audi boss Martin "Quattro" Winterkorn. After his departure, Pischetsrieder will be charged with handling "special assignments," according to a Reuters source on VW's supervisory board (i.e., cleaning out his desk really well). The move comes six months since the board voted to extend Pischetsrieder's contract through April 2012. Apparently, the Fish man lost an internal battle with VW's former chairman Ferdinand Piëch, who gave up his post at VW in return for a supervisory board spot for Porsche's CEO Wendelin Wiedeking. Let the bloodletting begin.

This is interesting. Porsche and VW have family ties- a recent one, for instance, is how Ferdinand Piëch is the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche. He's been a bit of a nuisance ever since he stepped down from VW head.

What will happen to Audi? Winterkorn has done a great job- and it was almost expected that this would happen. But still...

Audi needs an idealist. Someone who can, at the least, come up with a better ad company for its US operations. VW needs someone who can help EVERYTHING in their US operations.

Will Winterkorn then be CEO of Volkswagen and Audi?

No, just VW. Audi's new CEO is a question mark.

I don't think this will have any effect on VW/Audi US operations--that's the part of the new President and CMO.

It would be nice if it did. They need to completely redesign their US ads, dealers, staff, etc...

Who is de-boosting us?

I think that the Lexus fans come into all the German post rooms, just to de-boost us. Or maybe just Will.

I had to put three of the posts here back to +1 so you could see it.

Woah!

ALL of the Lexus fans de-boosted every post!

I can't see any of them!

I already tried... they're like leeches.

Well, all I have to do is click on the "Show Comment" button. Nice try.

Watch them de-boost me, too.

1 Lexus person has opened 5 or 6 accounts. There's no way 6 people came in here and did this so fast.

posibly yes..but what psycho would logoff and log back on and loggoff 5-6 times as you claim to just mess around with a silly booster?

I keep thinking its German car fans doing it to each other...I don't know why but I do.

I know which Lexus psycho would log on and off 6 times, because he shows his psychotic disposition with every post he makes. He is really a freak and way beyond a car fan, even a Lexus fan. You all know who I'm talking about, which proves the point.

I think this will be great for Audi. Winterkorn, installed as CEO of VW, will continue to foster Audi. With all the hard work he has put into building the brand he will be more supportive than Pischetsrieder. I also think that because all of his goals at Audi haven't been met, he will help them come to fruition.

I read through this entire post and didn't see your name anywhere. Curious that you admit to being the "Lexus psycho" posted above.

From what I can see, personality is your big problem, not what you drive. You have a morally superior attitude that makes people hate you. I personally don't care about Lexus either way. It's just a car.
