VIDEO: Hyundai's BIG Game Ad Gives Us Some Insight Into How DREADED The Car Buying Experience Is Perceived...
You know, sometimes I forget how consumers despise the car buying experience. I don't know, over the years I've found it a bit of fun.

Clearly, I am in the minority there.

Late this week Hyundai dropped its Super Bowl spot that will be played during the Big Game. Frankly, it doesn't matter though. I've been seeing it all day, every day on YouTube since the Korean automaker released it this week. I am already sick of it.

Having said that, I wanted to pass it along to you, Spies, since I doubt you've been as exposed to it as I have. So, what do you think?

Is Jason Bateman's star power doing it for you?

In this year’s Super Bowl commercial, see how we take the pain out of car shopping with Hyundai Shopper Assurance. Transparent pricing, streamlined purchasing, a 3 Day Worry-Free Exchange and test drives that come to you. It’s car shopping made better.

It’s a good idea...unfortunately it won’t work because customers are so used to haggling and fighting for a deal with care sales. A customer who gets $1000 off on a Toyota/Honda/ford etc. will feel as if they are getting a better “value” than a hyundai under this program. Cars in this class are largely homogenous and price is what drives most sales.

The reality is that most people these days are NOT afraid to haggle.

More than ever people come in having done their research and have their finances in place.

More often than not, our internet staff has chatted back and forth with them.

It is not uncommon for an individual to walk in and have pre-selected a car.

Go on a test drive, agree on the price, print the paperwork, sign and go.

Agreeing on the price is easier because they know the supposed invoice and we know our kickback. Sometimes the price was agreed to online and the information for the loan/lease docs already entered.

We all cringe when a needy snowflake comes in with ANXIETY. Because THEY don't know their facts or are not able to make a decision it weighs us down.

I have pulled salespeople off a sale when it's taking too long. I have introduced myself and said "Your time is valuable. Our time is valuable. Are we able to make a decision or do you need to think some more and come back when you're ready to actually make a decision?"

The worst is when you compound that with people who bring all their kids along too.

Ay Dios mio.
