#GIMS: TEASED! Just WHAT, Exactly, Is Mazda Bringing To Geneva? Something To Round Out Its SUV Lineup?
Recently, Mazda released a teaser shot of an all-new product. There's just one problem: No one has any idea what the hell it actually is.

It clearly is a sport-utility vehicle. It has a higher stance and clearly boasts a liftgate.

But, this is where things get a bit tricky. According to reports, there's reason to believe that Mazda is seeking to round out its SUV portfolio with a vehicle that slots between the compact CX-3 and the mid-size CX-5. That would make sense given the CX-5 has been a big seller for the Japanese automaker.

Another rumor making the rounds is that this simply is a refresh of the CX-3, which has been out since 2014. But, to me, the proportions are quite a bit different and its scale seems too big to be the teeny tiny CX-3.

Having said that, what say YOU, Spies?

What do YOU think Mazda is bringing to the Geneva Motor Show?

Hoping it the new CX-7. The CX-5 is already pretty small and with a coupe version, CX-4, it would close in size inside of the current CX-3!

The CX5 is the only thing they have that sort of sells. The rest of their product line is pretty dead for sales. They need a 3 row CX9. They could reskin a Highlander and call it good.

A new CX-7 would make sense.

They've established the CX-9 & CX-5. They need a "meat-of-the-market" entry to fill the gap.

B/c Mazda has been playing it safe - at the very least - it'll be a revised CX-5 to follow the design updates on the CX-3.

Where the hell is the new CX-7?! It'd be on my shortlist if they actually built it. Prefer a gorgeous Mazda wagon, but I know that'll never happen.

I really don’t know how Mazda is staying alive in the US. They sold a total of 20k cars in January, almost 10k fewer than the Honda CR-V sold in January.
I remember when I test drove a Mazda 6 last year. When I stepped into the dealership I though I literally time warped back about 20years. Everything in the dealership felt and looked incredibly dated. The lighting was horrible and the showroom was crammed with cars. And this was in a major automall where one would want to be completely competitive. The brand has the best looking non-premium designs but you would never know it by the dealerships.

The local Mazda dealer is pretty dismal. The lot is full of used cars. THAT is what you see when you arrive and the new cars are hidden behind them. It used to be the BMW dealer until the BMW dealer moved to a new location. Mazda moved in, too down the BMW sign, and put up the Mazda sign. Repaint? Nope? Did it need a makeover? Yes. The dealer was worn out looking when BMW left and for the last 10 years, Mazda has been there. The CX5 is the only thing they have that sells and even it is not in the hunt for sales in its segment.

I agree with folks mentioning a new CX-7. Why not a SUV/Sports coupe à la BMW X4 or X6?
