Democrats Unlikely To Let Go Of EV Tax Credits For The Wealthy
Lawmakers opposed to tax credits for electric vehicles are again trying to eliminate federal subsidies for buyers of alternative-power vehicles and force them to contribute more for highway infrastructure.

Bills filed Wednesday in the U.S. House and Senate to terminate the $7,500 EV tax credit have little chance of passing, especially in a Democratic-controlled House, but renew a debate about the state of the EV market and government's role in shifting demand to cleaner forms of transportation.

The tax credit is designed to defray the cost of EVs that are more expensive than similarly sized traditional vehicles. Opponents say the program disproportionately helps wealthy car buyers.

I is just an opinion that the bill could die. Let's see what happens. Giving money to rich people is never good public policy. No matter how often it happens in politics. BEV sales should have never been supported with public funds.

The government does that today by giving oil companies generous tax breaks that dwarf the EV incentives. Who do you think benefits the most? Rich oil execs. In Silicon Valley at least, EVs have made it well into the middle class.

With the recent tax changes, middle-class earners with a mortgage will be screwed the most. So pursue as many tax credits as possible if you can.

I think we should tax EV owners double because they can save energy and redirect some of their one-percenter money into funding Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal.

I think the tax credit should only go to the middle and lower middle class. I just heard that most middle class are losing about 8% in tax credit this year.
