The GREAT Debate: Which Sedan Is The BEST Right Now For UNDER $25,000 (Street Price)?

The GREAT Debate: Which Sedan Is The BEST Right Now For UNDER $25,000 (Street Price)?
These days sports cars, wagons and sedans are having it a bit tough. They're just not selling how they used to.

Meanwhile, sport-utility vehicles are enjoying consumers flocking to them. Build it and they will come.

Frankly, it's quite a shame. That's because right now sedans are better than ever. The silver lining, however, is that today you can score a helluva deal on a sedan. Dealers are looking to move these vehicles off their lots.

This got the Agents thinking. And, of course, we turn to you — the tastemakers — to help us sort this one out.

We want to know: Which SEDAN is the BEST on the market right now for UNDER a $25,000 street price?

Could it be the Honda Accord? Ford Fusion? Hyundai Sonata? Nissan Altima? Something else?

What say you, Spies?

I would buy a used CPO. I can't think of a single one of these I would WANT.

Agree CPO or my current fave a used first generation E 55 AMG u can scoop up for less than 10k, arguably the most reliable AMG ever and no air suspension sabotage, some are starting to appreciate too!

Reliable? AMG? Surely you jest...

LOL There’s a reason they are #1 performance division as well...gotta remember that w210 chassis has racked up countless miles by taxi drivers in Europe and the AMG E 55 didn’t have a supercharger or air suspension.... just good ole fashion fun with practicality

The best sedan is an SUV. Sedans are an example of WASTED SPACE and WASTED UTILITY.
New technology allows SUV's to drive as well or better than a sedan.

skytop: There's this typical (faux) explanation as to why a consumer SHOULD buy an SUV over a sedan. this is it.

"...the best SEDAN is an SUV...WASTED SPACE and WASTED UTILITY...." AND WASTED FUEL. Also increased aggression & over-confidence in a machine the driver rarely knows how to operate fully.

SUV's are great for those that honestly need the space & utility for daily operation. I see 70%-80% of SUV's with 1 or maybe 2 occupants....going to the mall or grocery store or to get ice cream or pizza. That's a WASTE. And many of these SUV's (various sizes) arent even fun to drive. If the driver can even handle it correctly. People still don't know how to operate their SUV's in rain & snowy conditions.

You cannot lose with a CamCord or a FusOptiNata. You can however lose with an Altima or a Rentabu.

The Altima has major issues with its transmission from customers complaining about NVH to premature failures. The Rentabu is so bad that you can't give them away even on a cheap lease. People just don't want them.

MDarringer - You should open your own car company. You seem to know everything about cars. The price, the cost, the drive what they should do to beat the competition. Make the best car, SUV or whatever. You seem to know it all.

Btw, Nissan are way better cars than any Hyundai or Kia. I am not saying that Hyundai and Kias are not good cars but not better than the top 3 Japanese manufacturers.

The top sedans for under $25k are the Accord, Mazda6, Optima, Civic, and Mazda3.

Forgot to say that if I were to write a check to buy one it would be the Accord without hesitation.

I'd include the Jetta.

I'd go either Honda Accord or Ford Fusion.

Most likely the Honda...

I've had several Fusions as company cars and have liked them tremendously. They are good looking, smooth, trouble free, and got good mileage. The Giulia I'm in now is in limp mode this morning. It rained here. maybe that's the issue. It may wind up going back to being a courtesy car.

Are you really THAT stupid? The Malibu is a princess in the rental/fleet sales world.

Well if you could really get an Accord for under 25K it would be hard not to pick it or the Mazda 6. A Civic is a good car but it does not have the refinement of the other 2. I've seen good reviews of the new Jetta. Not a sports sedan but a good cruiser with a comfortable ride. Darringer I'm curious. You hate Alfa Romeos. What are you doing with Giulia?
