SPIED + VIDEO: Caught IN ACTION, The All-new Porsche Cayenne COUPE Readies To Take On The X6 And GLE

Our guy on the ground, Toldi, has spied something very interesting working its way around the streets of Stuttgart.

You know, that German city where a legendary German auto manufacturer is located.

Although the all-new Porsche Cayenne has launched with its Panamera-inspired interior, it seems that may not be enough. As the sport-utility vehicle game is hot right now, it appears that Porsche is going to expand its portfolio.

It will now include a Cayenne Coupe. But, it won't be a proper two door. Nope!

Set to square up against the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe will be the Cayenne Coupe. Featuring four doors and sloping roofline, it will be a more sporting Cayenne.

"You know, that German city..." yes none of your readers knows where it's located or the significance.

Meanwhile, Porsche will sell every one of these they make. The Cayenne should be redone with an extended wheelbase and a more upright appearance given that the Porsche of SUVs will now be the Cayenne coupe.

Porsche should definitely make a long wheelbase Cayenne. The long wheelbase Panamera is silly but a pricey, LWB Cayenne would fly off the shelves.

They could charge $30,000 more just by adding 8 inches in wheelbase.

It would be like Porsche's Maybach or Range Rover's Range Rover LWB version.

It would not cannibalize Bentley Bentayga sales either. The Bentayga does not sell because it is flashy, tasteless, and gaudy. Sorry to be honest, but in the NYC area, the Bentayga's are universally driven by 40 - 55 year old women whose husband showers them with the gift to distract wifey from his infidelities. No joke!

I think the difference in the roofline between the regular and coupe will be hard to differentiate. Both are sloping.

Hence my reasoning for lengthening the wheelbase of the Cayenne, making it a 3 row crossover, and more upright to be a competitor to the Range Rover.

the current Touareg is pretty nice. it would have easily killed any Q8, Cayenne success in the US, this year.
