What Would Happen If Harley-Davidson Branded An Entire Line Of Trucks And SUVs?

Last month, Morgan Stanley idea man Adam Jonas hypothesized about General Motors changing its name. This month, he's brainstorming about Harley-Davidson getting into the full-size pickup and SUV business.

The motorcycle manufacturer plans to launch an electric bike this year, prompting Jonas to write in a note to investors: "Are we the only ones who really struggle with the concept of all-electric … silent Harley-Davidson motorcycles?"

Those are performance enhancements on existing models. Jonas is speculating about full scale production of new models from the ground up. This is pure nonsense. If I had any of my money at Morgan Stanley under his control I'd pull it out immediately.

Given that HD is on shaky ground at the moment--things are ok but not OK--ground up makes no sense at all, but hey if AMG can claim bespoke products that are badge engineered from Mercedes, then anything is possible.

Peeps stupid enough to buy Harleys are stupid enough to buy all kinds of gaudy, tasteless and expensive Harley merchandise including Pickups so they can show everyone how awesome and original they are.

Most HD drivers are assholes with stupid and illegal gutted out mufflers so they can wake little children and terrorize entire neighbourhoods as they parade around the hood to show how bad ass they are. the dopes who made harley popular 15 years ago dont buy them because they are old people now. nobody else wants them because the products are unreliable and expensive. not to mention the cult of losers who made sure that harley apparel is as irrelevant now as von dutch. harley is done.

Hardly Davidson has become a an advertising JOKE. Hardly Davidson has NOTHING to do with trucks so why should anyone drive around in a vehicle that screams Hardly Davidson.
