I just got back from the Volvo S80 press drive in Las Vegas where we put the new S80 through its paces (photos coming soon).

The new S80 is a much better car than its predecessor in almost every way but what stands out most from a 'cool factor' is the new advanced key system.

this is not that cool sorry. the key tells you if you left the car unlocked or locked. big efen deal. it also tells you if someones in your car stealing it. that does you know good because my car being missing would be my first clue. and i always lock my doors and i hit it twice so i always know i have it locked, its habbit.

now the real best key i think is the mayback. that key is the credit card type and auto unlocks when you approach the car and you have it somewhere on your persone (wallet, or pocket wahtever) when you walk away it locks and arms the alarm. when yo usit inside the car with the key, you push a button on the shifter and the car starts. just because your key is in your wallet or whatever. now that is freakin cool. beat that with your heart sensor volvo

Sure the maybach key is cool but those features are can be found anywhere, from gm to entry level nissans (see this link: http://www.nissanusa.com/sentra/interior.html)
Volvo brings new tech that will help a lot of forgetful people. Its cool!

but really, who doesnt lock their car doors? do you have to have a button to remind you if your doors are locked or unlocked, its virtually useless. now maybe if it let you know when it was raining and your windows are down it would be usefull but come on, you must be a complete idiot to sit there in your house and just wonder if you locked the door or not. anyone who has been driving for any amount of time should be used to locking the doors with the keyless remote. and most cars can pick up your transmitter inside your home, so if you were unsure then you could just hit the lock button again to be sure.
