Ford Says 2020 Bronco Will Be A Full Fledged SUV Not A Crossover
It’s been a long time since we had news about the 2020 Ford Bronco. The Blue Oval automaker has remained tight-lipped since the first teaser image of its Jeep Wrangler rival was released last year. Speaking to Automotive News, Ford’s North American president, Kumar Galhotra, has provided some new details about the reborn Bronco.

Galhotra considers the Bronco a "brand asset” and went on to say that a vehicle with the Bronco nameplate will need to live up to expectations associated with the moniker. In other words, expect the new Bronco to be a proper SUV rather than a rebranded crossover like the new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer.

It is 2019! 2020 Bronco got to be release this year, right?

It's more likely to be a 2021 if anything.

Some Ford people should be talking to Toyota about "brand assets" and Icons.

If this is the case, it will sell well whereas the Blazer will languish in its mediocrity. GM is just pathetic

The Bronco will be a significant brand with multiple SUVs for Ford to give Jeep serious competition it hasnt seen..!!

Plus based on what Jim Farley has said Bronco will be more high speed desert runner (like Raptor) than rock crawler like 5% of Wrangler users... Does this mean front axle is independent like Raptor vs. Solid with dredded Jeep Wobble...!

I vote for independent that gives 12" articulation and better on-road driving vs. Jeep... Comptitive advantage!

If it looks like the picture above, you can keep it. If it looks like the 2004 concept, put it in my driveway.

I bet GM wish they could turn back the clock on deciding to make the Blazer a crossover over a truck like look now. But it's too late now. The Blazer is already made. Even that new Rav4 . Poor GM.

Put the 1000 torques diesel motor from the Ford Superduty in it, and I'll put my money down tomorrow.

So, now I'm expecting the new Bronco to be this Raptor-version of the Expedition, a full-size rugged offroad SUV.

I was hoping it would be a 2 door full size truck based vehicle but about the length of a short bed truck. I like driving a truck, but want it enclosed in the back, but with room for 5. Damn, sounds like the old Bronco.
