OFFICIAL: BMW Announces Pricing For The X3 M And X4 M — Are You RUNNING To Your Dealer Or PASSING?
The BMW M3 of sport-utility vehicles is here, Spies! That's right, BMW finally revealed its X3 M and X4 Ms as of this week.

It's hard to believe it took the Bavarians this long but given that SUV lust is at a fever pitch, it was now or never. Really.

But, alas, here we are.

Starting at $70,895*, you can be the proud owner of an X3 M. The X4 M starts at a higher rate of $74,395*. And, if you want in on those 500 horsepower Competition models, you better get ready to pony up another $7,000.

*These prices do not include title, taxes and fees.

So, I've got to ask: Are you going to be RUNNING to your local dealer or is it a HARD PASS for you?

...Of course, we'd look at the competition, too. There's the wild Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the razor-sharp and soon to be replaced Porsche Macan Turbo, and the V-8–powered Mercedes-AMG GLC63. But these new BMW M models may be the most perfect combination of virtues. U.S. pricing starts at $70,895 for the X3 M and $74,395 for the X4 M; the Competition models will set you back another $7000. Made in the United States, they will be at dealerships starting in mid-July.

No need for one so will pass. Prices appear to be rising quite a bit across the industry.

These prices do seem quite high. An X3 is supposed to be an entry-level SUV. Yes, this is an M-version but $71,000 is still incredibly high for what is on offer. This means the X5M will easily cross $105,000.

Tesla Model Y 5 seater SUV coming soon... starting at around $45,000 , loaded-up Performance edition for probably $70k, and will eat these M-posters for lunch from stop light to stop light. ...and with it 100 mpg-e.

Sorry, BMW. Your days are just about over.

$45K in Tesla money is $75K in real-world money.

I value my money too much to even consider a BMW of any type as they are nothing but endless money pits either through maintenance and service or capital depreciation. If I want to waste money I will go to the titty bar...

So, then.

What's your brand of choice?

I am debating on getting a Cayenne or a RX350 Sport 2. The Lexus is ugly but bulletproof and I drive 60K/year (KM) so the RX is probably the more logical choice from a cost and reliability perspective and not being too flashy. I have owned over 11 Bimmers (325is, Dinan 540, M3, M5 and a Z8) so I know the infamous carrying costs of Bring Money With you...

For that kind of excessive mileage, the RX is the better choice but that level of mileage will cause crazy depreciation. Why not drop one level down to a Rav4 and minimize your outlay and loss?

You've obviously never owned a Porsche if you think BMW is an expensive vehicle to maintain.

I considered the NX which is a Rav4 I believe but its too small for what I need. I liked the seats in the RX and the Mark Levinson radio in the Sport 3 package. Because I drive so much comfort and good sound is imperative and greatly influences my purchases. I buy my vehicles and drive them into the ground and the RX can easily do 500KM with proper PM.

Is any business related that you can do a tax "thing" with the miles? I easily do 25K a year for business. My experiment with the Giulia is over and back to being a courtesy car it went. What is pile of garbage the Giulia is.

Yes I owned a few 996tt back in the day but never put many miles on them like I do now...

I have a very efficient tax structure of both off and onshore SPVs so no issues there and purchasing is better than leasing especially with my high mileage needs. I might buy it personally and then have my company pay me for mileage rather than buying it as a company car. That one I will run past my $650/hour CPA...

Why did you sell your haulers -were you done amortizing them and needed new sheet metal for the deductions because those trucks are good for 500K miles I have heard and wouldn't it be more cost effective driving them longer or into the ground?
