How Important Are Charging Networks To EV Owners?
It seems whenever we share information about a new electric vehicle, there are many naysayers that refuse to give it any credit if it doesn’t bring with it its own fast-charging network. Basically, this means every EV that’s not a Tesla. However, just because an automaker doesn’t build out its own charging network doesn’t mean the car itself is a lemon. This is especially true when considering that most EV owners charge at home, and many live in areas where other fast-charging networks are available and growing.

Rest areas along the interstates make obvious places to put charging stations.

I have several coworkers now that have non-Tesla EVs without fast charging and they get by just fine using level 2 chargers which are now everywhere. Not ideal for long-distance travelling, but not everyone needs a car for travelling. My first Tesla only had 130 miles of range and no supercharging, and I got by with no issues for 5 years (I used to rather fly than drive long distances, but the Model 3 is changing that mindset for me).

Lets see...as important as gas stations are to ICE owners. Just a guess.

Slightly less important, unless you can add a gas station to your garage.

The MOST important source of power for EV charging stations in an ample supply of OIL and COAL to power the generators at the electric utility plant.

SShhhhh....don't share this secret with any dead head, lame brain liberal fool. Those snowflakes are too fragile to deal with truth.

skytop - Your truth is not applicable to everyone everywhere. I do agree with you that some people don't think about the source of the volts, but there are regions/countries that have eliminated those archaic power plants.
The majority of EV owners (who did research before buying) will have the ability to charge at home for a large majority of the driving needs. Long distance trips need a bit more planning, but for some it means renting an ICE for that trip.
