Porsche Still Claims 20,000 Taycans A Year But Is Secretly Ramping Up Production For 40,000
Porsche has been rumored to be planning to significantly increase the production of the Taycan, its first all-electric vehicle. But it now sounds like they are still aiming for 20,000 units the first year – though they think it’s conservative.

Over the last few months, we reported on Porsche publicly saying that they are considering increasing the planned capacity of Taycan production and later, a German report claimed that they are actually going to double production to 40,000 units per year.

If true, why continue to make the slow selling ICE Panamera? At 1,500-2,500 units a year it should be toast.

@MD The Taycan SUV is slated for 2022 if you can trust other news sites. A logical progression for the new BEV platform.

Panamera will be dead in the water once this comes out. The Taycan will be priced between the Cayenne and Panamera. Tesla will have its first real competitor for Model S as well...looks like Porsche is pricing the Taycan right in line with the Model S.
