RUMOR MILL: Alfa Romeo Working On New Compact SUV

If we were to give credit to a new report, then Alfa Romeo might be two weeks away from unveiling a brand new SUV of compact dimensions.

We’ve already heard this rumor from our own sources (hence the presence of the Alfa SUV in our Geneva Show list), and now Motor1 is reporting too that the Stelvio’s smaller sibling could be presented at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

With Giulia and Stelvio sales catastrophically below projection and stalling, building another Alfa Romeo boondoggle makes total sense.

I like the Stelvio but I have a problem with the vehicle’s reliability and the expensive replacement parts.

Reliability has been up and down. Some vehicles have been very reliable where others have been pretty bad. If Alfa could ever fix this it could really increase sales. The Georgio platform has been out since 2017. Assuming the compact is a shortened Georgio platform it is using the exact same parts. Come on Alfa for once get this right!
