Audi Slashing 10% Of Executive Workforce To Cut Costs
Audi plans to eliminate one layer of management or about 10 percent of the division's executive positions in a cost cutting drive, the unit's CEO told German newspaper Handelsblatt.

"One thing is clear, our cost base is too high," Audi CEO Bram Schot was quoted as saying.

He reaffirmed a target for a total of 15 billion euros ($17 billion) in cost savings through 2022.

Indeed. Thomson Reuters made 12% cut of their global head count in December.

Let's hope most of them are in the design department.

Maybe they should start at the top and trim the fat.

It's called removing executive fat. It is a toxic growth that afflicts large companies.

From experience it is usually the lowest senior management that gets cut, you know, the level where the vast majority of shit that gets done, when the majority of the compensation and fat is stacked at the very very top top...and are usually the last to go.

Meaning, several regular VP’s are about to get cut when it is really the President, CEO, CFO, and certain Executive VP’s are gobbling up each much more than all the regular VPs are totalled together. Corporate Behavior these days is to pile up the compensation at the very very top in a circle jerk of money until the merry go ride ends and the top is forced out but not before cashing out a multi-million golden parachute.

This is nothing new and all large companies go through this. With the cost savings it achieves, Audi should reinvest in EV vehicles. I'm excited about the new compact all-EV SUV debuting at Geneva!

VW's current path is unsustainable. Too many brands, too many copy-cat products, too much cannibalization.

Too much depreciation too.
