Based On LOOKS Alone, Does The Polestar 2 Stand A Chance Against The Tesla Model 3?
Whether you want to admit or not — some of you won't — the electric vehicles to beat right now are coming out of Tesla. But, that doesn't mean that others aren't trying.

Even though the technical specifications of the Audi e-tron SUV are disappointing, supposedly 20,000 reservations have been placed. And the Porsche Taycan has a lot of interested parties awaiting the release of full details and images.

Polestar 2 electric vehicle (EV)

Volvo isn't sitting this one out, either. Set to be revealed on February 27 is the Polestar 2. While enthusiasts are excited for its sportier halo Polestar, the 2 is the one that actually matters.

That's because it's set to square up against the Tesla Model 3.

This is what we've been waiting for. Now we're hoping Volvo delivers a competitive product with aggressive technical specifications. Until then though, we're left wondering: Based on LOOKS alone, does the Polestar 2 stand a chance against the Model 3?

What say you, Spies?

Ask us again on the 27th. It's going to look NOTHING like this monstrosity.

Both are boring and dated looking. The Pornstar at least looks like a premium vehicle.

Maybe closer to an I-Pace judging by the proportions and sharp lines.

Volvo looks like an origami paper fold; Tesla front has duck lips. Both are ugly and disappointing.

There are already EVs out there (and even not yet in productyion) that are killing Tesla's ageing vehicles. The Porsche Taycan has obliterated sales of the Model S even beore it goes into production. Tesla's Model 3 no longer has a waiting list while the Porsche Taycan has sold out its entire first and most of its seond year's production - stealing an enormous number of sales from the ageing Model S. And the Jaguar I Pace has been trouncing Models X and S. Tesla's Model 3 is having a hard time finding buyers and in the U.S. its $7500 price disadvantage makes it an almost impossible sale. All this vefore the main competitors take the stage. Tesla has lost its lead in EV technology in the areas of driving range an battery recharge speed and will shortly have its Supercharger network overcome by CCS chargers , whixh are required by 98% of the world's EVs. The Polestar 2 is just one of many competitors that will steal sales from Tesla.

So you're comparing sales that may happen to sales that have happened and are calling it reality?

The polestar is made in China and will not coming to the US anytime soon, nor will any Chinese made vehicles.

Wow-This sounds like the movie "Minority Report" with Tom Cruise. It was about arresting people by predicting they would commit a future crime. ColMosby-A little bazaar. In reality we a speculating that the Taycan "could" significantly cut into Tesla sales. It hasn't happened yet. VAG looks to be well positioned for lots of sales. But we still have to wait for the vehicles to actually go into production with actual orders.
