Is It ME Or Do These Two Things Ruin All The GOODNESS The Upcoming Mid-engine, C8 Chevrolet Corvette Had Going For It?
Another day, another batch of next-gen Chevrolet Corvette spy shots emerge. Following up on the latest collection, which came to us earlier this week, an all-new collection has showed up at our front door.

With excitement running at all-time highs, it's clear that a lot of people are interested in what this C8 Corvette will look like. General Motors' performance division certainly has the wind at its back right now.

Let's hope they don't ruin it.

Oh, wait. They may have. The latest batch of spy shots show the all-new Corvette sporting less camouflage than ever and with a lot of new details being revealed (headlights, taillights, front hood shut lines, etc.).

One thing I haven't seen previously is this new rear spoiler. And, boy, does it look sh!t. But not nearly as bad as the all-new, squared-off quad exhaust tips. While I have no problem with squared-off tips, there's something about this particular set that's especially irksome — I think it's because they're rounded off on the inside. Hopefully these aren't the real deal.

What say you, Spies? Is it ME or am I onto something?

Logically, the exhaust pipes would be round to match quad-round tail lights because quad-round tail lights are a Corvette signature. That spoiler CANNOT be right and if it is, I hope there is a spoiler delete option. To me this looks fat, graceless, and ill-proportioned. I predict that once the C8 is out the C7 will sell like hotcakes.

@MD - I guess it will top the C5 for the biggest rear end on a sports car ever.

This is the answer to a question no one asked.

@MD Somebody on the team must like that C5 model as the new C8 also has its droopy 8am/4pm steering wheel spoke design. I am not sure why designers have a problem with things that just work fine as they are.

It is still a development R+D car. The droopy rear end mid section is likely not 100%. Neither is the spoiler. Onward we go...

you have to assume the rear wing is for testing downward forces at higher speeds. and they should be testing the higher-performance versions & the different combinations of spoilers wings etc.

It is you. It seems you cannot wait to bash this car before you see the real thing.

It is totally you... d-bags like you need to get a life.... if all you have to do is complain about square exhaust tips and spoiler aesthetics when your sitting on a mountain of horsepower and world class chassis you really need to find a new hobby.
People don’t buy super cars because of their exhaust tips. I so wish I had not read this dribble of an opinion... I feel dumber for having done so.It is totally you....

It's going to be amazing but overpriced. It's actually just a C3 Corvair

@VeganIsForCuckolds where did Corvair come from?

Haters gotta hate. I cannot wait to drive one. One of the first concept cars I saw was the four rotor mid-engine concept. As good as the current Vette is to drive (and it is) this car will be special despite comments about the shape of its exhaust tips.

It's you. It's called an opinion. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean others can't like it. Looks great to me. Especially the spoiler.

Now you're just being a strident ass. The spoiler is disgusting. I was with you until the idiocy of "Especially the spoiler". Stay in the mountains.

I read the comments before I looked at the photos, and I thought it was all quite funny. Then I looked at the photos. That spoiler is stunningly unattractive. I'm sure the car will be a four wheeled miracle, but, uh, that just doesn't communicate performance to me. And why do they want the rear end to sag in the middle? Sagging looks sloppy.

I have no issues with the exhaust tips especially considering that the taillights will be rectangular-ish.

I was behind a Porsche Cayenne yesterday and the tailpipe finishers are very similiar, rectangular, but connected to a round pipe. This ruins Porsches for me. I would never consider one now that I have seen these rediculous exhaust finishers.

The C7 is the first Vette I would like to buy, MD. I'll start with the test drive. I like your focus on closing.

Closing a deal? Find out how long it's been on the lot. Corvettes don't sell for list. We have not had any real interest in the C8, but suddenly we need to get more Z06s. Getting 15% off should be a snap.

To be honest, most of our Corvette sales are on the internet. One of the Ford haulers is New Mexico bound with two Stingrays as we speak.
