CAR WARS! Face OFF Edition — WHO Did It Better? Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

CAR WARS! Face OFF Edition — WHO Did It Better? Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE
One of the biggest deciding factors for buyers seeking an all-new ride is how a vehicle looks. As autos are a status symbol, this should come as no surprise.

But, apparently, some are still caught off guard by this.

That's why we like to dissect an all-new auto's design. It is that important to buyers. Well, except for cult classics (e.g., anomalies like the Pontiac Aztek, which has a huge following now).

Having said that we wanted to put together the two biggest and baddest high performing American muscle cars out there in a head-to-head. WHO executed "the face" better? Ford with the Shelby GT500? General Motors with the Camaro ZL1 1LE? What say you, Spies?

Both look pretty wicked but I would have to go with Ford. The Camaro looks kind of generic, like it was a Nascar design, not a Camaro design.

The Mootang just looks mean as shit and thats a good thing... Very menacing indeed!

I prefer the Mustang even if the face has ZERO Mustang DNA.

If those are my choices, then Mustang.

Never owned either but have always been partial to GM... that said currently sucks so Mustang, it just looks better and I think Ford actually wants to give customers value....

Wow, overwhelmingly Mustang fans here.

I'd go ZL1 1LE all day.

Oh come now, it looks pretty generic. What in that face (which is all we are considering here) tells you this is a Camaro? I used to have a 70 Z/28, distinct face, I want a 69 Restomod but keep the RS nose, very distinct.

Your neck isn't red, but you are a hateful bigot.

Either one is cool. Both have their unique on-road features & characteristic driving feeling.

I'd like to wring them out on the streets like Clarkson & crew did in Detroit a few months ago.

The Mustang has some classic Cobra look in it with nice evolution of design.

Camaro is just a mess like most of GM design with no look or connection to past Camaros.

I actually drive the zl1 1le. Before purchasing it, I thought that the Camaro was definitely more aggressive looking. You have to see it in the streets. Pictures don't do it justice.

The ZL1 is a tremendous car but Chevy's styling upgrade of the Camaro is terrible in person and that's a pity. Neither the Camaro or Mustang is especially sticking to heritage themes.

Wasn't there a swan song V8 thread a few days ago?
