What Could It Be? Elon Musk Promises Upcoming Tesla News

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s recent tease of an upcoming announcement has the community guessing on what the “Tesla news” could be about.

Taking to Twitter shortly before midnight Pacific time on Wednesday, Musk posted a series of cryptic tweets, leading with an ambiguous call out to “Thursday 2 pm.” As the Tesla and SpaceX community, and his legion of 25 million followers, began to speculate on what the tweet might be about – perhaps a dig at the shortseller enrichment commission – Musk followed it up with two more posts confirming an upcoming Tesla announcement.

Any I have to say it: "Where's the 35k model 3?" ...
... it's here.

Sorry not sorry to all the haters that kept saying it would never happen.

@SJD It not that it would never happen, you dimwit. It was the dishonesty of "selling" a $35K vehicle to people with deposits to put down and then telling them to F-off when the $60-70K Model 3 got top priority. If you take deposits, you deal with those cars FIRST rather than making them wait nearly two years.

No MDBag, most haters here said the $35k model would never come out. Tesla's going bankrupt blah blah blah. It's here, and it is better than what was promised.

And yet you CONTINUE to claim you don't work for Tesla, but you're a liar. Because liars are not truthful, anything you say is easily dismissed.

The car costs $36,200. So $35k has still never happened.

But the bigger news is that nearly all of Tesla's retail locations are getting shut down and sales employees getting fired. And there is no order backlog. Pretty ominous signs.

No order backlog? You sure about that?

That's idiotic, no mention of doc & destination fees or taxes was mentioned during the unveil, that is never included in the base price of cars. We can include the rebates as well, which makes your base price $32k in the US the way you're calculating it.

Yes, there is no order backlog. Go to Tesla's website and click on the base Model 3.

"Estimated Delivery: 2-4 weeks"

If there is no backlog, one of the following is true:

1. There never were a half million deposits.
2. The people with deposits asked for their money back.
3. There is no waiting if you want to pay $60K
