Audi Sales Hit A Wall In February - Down 12.2% For Month
Audi sales hit a brick wall in February with a decline of 12.2%.  Even sales of the normally hot Q5 crossover suffered at the hands of a brutal month.

If Audi wants to stay around, that styling has got to go, you’ve rested on your laurels for 20 years in the styling department.

The brand has great quality, interiors, tech, innovation but it’s covered in the most dull packaging on the market.

The Q3 and A3 are no longer exciting young professionals/students and the high end offerings simply cannot survive in an S Class and Navigator world

Nailed it: "If Audi wants to stay around, that styling has got to go, you’ve rested on your laurels for 20 years in the styling department."

Marc Lichte has no new ideas.

This should be a worrisome sign for the brand. Four consecutive months of decline (and I think double-digit declines). Even with the new Q8 adding 900 to the total and apparently the new A6 resonating with buyers, they still show a significant decline. The Q5 can't continue to carry the brand. CPO sales gains appear to be strong. Is that an indication that Audi's product evolution just aren't compelling enough and/or distinctive enough to drive buyers into new-car showrooms?

This is extremely troubling for Audi. While the new models (A6, A7, and A8) are selling well, the fall in SUV sales, particularly the best-selling Q5 is a big problem. The Q5 and Q7 both fell for the month. The Q3 was down big but that's understandable with the new one around the corner. This is a troubling sign as the new Q3 looks just like the Q5 and Q7 except smaller.

The A5 Sportback boost hasn't helped for 6 months now. Audi needs to rethink its design strategy before it's too late.

there's no way you can tell me a BMW or Mercedes design direction is any better than Audi. Don't make it sound like they have to start from scratch. They still lead in design imo and if not then who does it better ?

The difference between Mercedes and Audi is it doesn’t take a magnifying glass to tell a Mercedes apart from its predecessor or previous generation. Mercedes has taken risks each generation and people are genuinely excited for new models to come out because you don’t know what to expect.

Audi simply cleans up the LED light design and says here ya go!

IIaroo: MB does have some swag to their style. Audi & BMW do not. Just my opinion and not trying to start an argument with you. Peace !!!

try and tell an E Class and a C class apart from 50 feet away - good luck. The Interior design on most look like an '80's disco now with curves everywhere backlit with led - the air vents are too big and the elongated tablet is wedged in. So much for cohesive design.

Looking like your current stable mates is not the problem.

Looking like your predecessor from 10 plus years ago is problematic, and the struggling sales show that, at this rate Infiniti and Acura May have a shot at beating Audi in the US this year
