Spy Shots: BMW 3-Series Shooting Brake Revealed

Well we’re not sure if it will carry the 3-Series badging but BMW’s upcoming shooting brake will look something like this and will seat four passengers and will compete with the Volvo C30. This BMW Shooting Brake is due out in 2009 and will have three doors (unlike the tourging so you don’t get confused). BMW will be basing this Shooting Brake on the 3-series but also considered a 1-Series version to compete with the Audi A3 Sportback.

I love the idea of this shooting brake but am not a big fan of 3-door hatches. 5-door hatches feel a bit more substantial and not so compact-feeling. Wonder if BMW would ever ditch the 3-series touring for a 5-door sportback version. Might be way more popular than a wagon in the US.

Here's the Ti again! I like 3 door hatches. I like the side view the longer door profile affords as I recline the seat (I'm 6'5").
