Spy Shots: BMW MPV Revealed

The company sees a market for a MPV model to grow by 45 percent between 2005 and 2015. The BMW MPV was really delayed since the design team couldn’t get the right looks and proportions, which we believe should’ve been enough of a signal that the company shouldn’t get into the market. Either way, the five-door four to five-seater seems as if it will be based on the 3-Series which could be a signal that BMW will market this as a competitor to the Mercedes C-Class estate or an Audi A4 Avant.

looks to me like more of a sports tourer (a la R-Class) rather than a van. Looks nice, though.

ok bmw, you have now really diluted the brand. first the x5, then the x3, now this! what next, a bmw pick-up? STICK TO Z4,3,5,6 AND 7!

i doesnt look much different than the 3 and 5 iT models. It looks a lot better than the current 3 wagon.

BMW should not build this. BMW is the anti-Mercedes. They should not have niche vehicles; their cars are profitable as is.

A four-door coupe would be acceptable by both Audi and BMW (because AM and Porsche are doing it, I'll let it slide), but I hope and pray that Audi will never have a "Sports Tourer".

If BMW does build this, at least don't make it look like a hearse, like the R-Class.

BMW is following the lead of MB to create all these models to capture every segment. Both companies have so much money to throw away don't they that the A,B,R class must be created and now BMW has gone to designing a niche car. Next thing you know Porsche will start building luxury saloons. Hell their almost there with the Cayenne.
