Tesla Holds Off On Price Increase After Massive Influx Of Orders Overwhelms Company
If you want the best deal on a new Tesla, buy before midnight Wednesday. After that, prices on the lineup — save for the base $35,000 Standard Range Model 3 — will rise by 3 percent. That price increase was supposed to happen Monday night, but according to a tweet from the automaker (embedded below), the company’s website has been hammered by customers trying to take full advantage of the opportunity. There are worse problems to have.

Nice, really wonderful to see a car made in the USA in such high demand globally! Wonder when the last time that happened was? Good on Tesla!

Perfect timing. While the quarter is predicted to show a loss, there will be a backlog of new orders. Ergo helps the stock. This is marketing 101 for 10Q management.

Was this just a scheme cooked up by Elon to increase sales...

Yeah, right. The influx of orders was so great that Tesla needs two whole days to process those orders. I note that Tesla makes no mention of how many. If their actually was an enormous number of orders 1) Tesla (Musk) would trumpet it to the heavens, and 2) the wait time for delivery would be far longer than is now stated. Musk has already been caught lying about the Model 3 sales in Europe - they are nowhere near the number lost in the U.S.

Even you - Matt - have to admit that there has been a lot of - shall we say - exaggeration - in many of the communications from Tesla and its fearless leader.

At some point - smart people look for more than just statements - they look for supporting documentation. Frankly - if our company posted as many false statements as Elon has - the Feds would be all over us.

Whenever someone uses the phrase "even you", they are speaking pejoratively and therefore they indicate that they do not wish an answer. Your sentence also incorrectly implies that I am a Tesla cheerleader. Your incoherence was not missed while you were away supposedly tending to your boss who gave you all his worldly possessions.

To state there was a "large: influx of orders without specifics is proof it is another con.

Sorry, that was supposed be "large". Cannot type with only one cup of coffee this morning.
Knowing Elon it could mean the font was large.
Reminds me of Bill Clinton.
