Nissan To Celebrate 50 Years Of Z And GT-R Production With Outdated Designs

The Nissan Z and Skyline GT-R went into production in 1969 and the company is preparing to celebrate their 50th anniversary at the New York Auto Show.

Nissan is keeping details under wraps, but they will use the event to introduce the “ultimate dream garage.” The company didn’t say much else about their plans, but noted the garage was “50 years in the making.”

While Nissan is staying tight-lipped, the teaser image shows eight different vehicles on and under lifts. The automaker didn’t name the models, but we can see classic and modern Z cars as well as GT-Rs and Skyline GT-Rs.

Why use the word "outdated"? I think it's pretty clear these are vintage designs.

More like the ultimate BS garage. The 240Z is a delight but Nissan has failed since then one way or the other with the Z/ZX Car.

Nissan better do something to seriously modernize and update the old, antiquated Z car. It is a living dinosaur and an embarrassment to Nissan.

The need to make it less expensive, more durable/reliable, and far better looking. As long as you can get a Mustang GT for mid-thirties that will wallop it on every performance parameter, no one is going to pay mid-forties for the ugly turd that the 370Z is.

Nissan isn't going anywhere with the ouster of Ghosn, with the exceptions of a few, the Japanese are vastly mediocre corporate managers, wouldn't be surprised if it's all downhill from here.
