The Ford Mustang Is The WORLD'S MOST Instagrammed Car. We Ask A SIMPLE Question. WHY, THOUGH?

The Ford Mustang Is The WORLD'S MOST Instagrammed Car. We Ask A SIMPLE Question. WHY, THOUGH?

Our good Buffalo family friend Austin Rexinger just penned an article with the claim that the Ford Mustang is the WORLD'S MOST Instagrammed car.

He wrote "
More than any other car, #FordMustang and #Mustang have been used the most on Instagram, a whopping 11,947,872 times (and counting)."

Now don't get me wrong, I like the Mustang. In fact, it was my first car ever.

But there are a LOT of real cool cars out there so I probably would have lost the trivia question if this came up at my favorite watering hole (when I'm not driving. NEVER, drink and drive!).

So the question we have for you EXPERTS is...WHY ON EARTH is the Ford Mustang of ALL the choices, is the MOST Instagenic car? Why though???

Give us your best theory of why it beats all others.

And on a side note, it may be the most instagrammed but Auto Spies photos are the most STOLEN by other sites lololol.

Something is wrong with the comment counter on this site. As for the article, it's a fun car that's relatively cool timeless and cheap.

The comment counter is fine. But if you spam us and get banned, your comments are deleted. So, it may sometimes show more comments in the counter than show on the page. It just means that there were that number of comments but some were deleted because the Auto Spies agents deemed them as garbage.

But thanks for the heads up!

1. It's iconic.
2. It's always been cheap fun.
3. It's now incredibly competent cheap fun.
4. It's stylish.
5. It celebrates being American without any apologies or shame.

I would suggest that it has less to do with the Mustang - although your point are true - and more to do with WHO is likely to post an Instagram.

Low self esteem seeking approval from strangers. Seems very common here.

Snide, looking-down-his-nose, intolerant judgment from EVisNow...what's new? He HATES that anyone should see the world differently than he does. He HATES people having the freedom to choose what they want, but much more importantly, he HATES being called out as the bigoted hypocrite he is.

In the DSM V, he fits all the classic parameters of borderline personality disorder with psychotic and pathological tendencies. If I were in practice, I'd offer to help you.

No you just described the typical "so much better than thou" smug Tesla owner like yourself.

@SanCarlosAsshatterDriver and @HoustonMidclown In the early stages of responding to a correct diagnosis, people like you ALWAYS tell the therapist he is wrong. I could have predicted it with a certainty.

It's not the car itself but the psyche of the people who post the pictures that is in question. The responses here confirmed by observation.

When you buy a Mustang you are not just buying a car but a persona of cool, rebelish, young and fun built up over 55 years. Steve McQueen cool to be precise.

The Mustang has, and is, a vehicle that transcends classes. It is obtainable for most, and has higher levels for those who can spend the money. It has a level of performance and luxury fit and finish that is not top notch, but for the price, very attractive.

I keep a Mustang as a summer/weekend car, and may be interested to get the 4 door AWD coupe when it launches. When compared to my current A6, a 5.0 model will probably cost a bit less, have more power, keep AWD, and have sufficient room on the occasion I take the family in it. Sure I may give up some tech and luxury fit and finish, but the cool factor and performance will increase. And I’ll have the V8 exhaust note, something I cannot get in an M4 or S5.

One of my project cars is a CHP Mustang LX 5.0 2 door with the IRS from the 2004 Mustang Cobra bolted in. That's as far as it's gotten so far. It still has the white doors and I may just preserve the patina because there isn't any rust to speak of.. The engine and transmission work, but they are worn out. I haven't decided what I will do mechanically, but I'm leaning to the so-called "real" 5.0 as the replacement engine.
