Watch This Tesla Model 3 Performance Take On Nürburgring

For the first time, as far as we know, a Tesla Model 3 Performance completed a lap at the Nürburgring race track and you can watch it on video.

The Nürburgring racetrack is a famously difficult track, often used as a benchmark for overall vehicle performance due to its length and grueling nature.  The track is over 12 miles long through the German countryside and includes high and low speed turns, varied road surfaces and lots of bumps and hills.

It is especially becoming a popular benchmark for electric vehicles, which have been known to not be able to maintain a high-power output for a long period of time, like it is required on the Nürburgring track.

There was a ton of traffic, lap time isn't apples to apples with record holders. It took 9min or so w/o track mode. Most of the time it was around 100 MPH and constantly passing slower cars.

I want to see this with a clear track, track mode turned on (hasn't been released yet as far as I know), and with only one person sitting in the car.

Resolution is too crappy to see how many miles were used.

I'm pretty sure it passed some civics in the video. Question, do they just let anyone go around the track? I think there is a minivan doing the ring in there. I think it would probably do ~7min with an empty track.

I'm not so sure about that, I think the Model 3 would outperform the Civic. Also most EVs are not allowed to compete in races.
