It's OFFICIAL! The All-new C8 Chevrolet Corvette Will Be Revealed On...
This is what many enthusiasts have been waiting for. The all-new, C8 Chevrolet Corvette has been given a reveal date.

And it's not at the 2019 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) happening next week. It's also not at the end of May like some had forecasted.

All-new C8 Chevrolet Corvette

The all-new C8 Stingray will be revealed on July 18. As far as we know there's no significance around that date. But, the vehicle trotted around Manhattan's Times Square did make note of the number 8 — we're guessing for C8.

As of this morning there's a tremendous amount of speculation surrounding this vehicle. We're just going to wait for the fat lady to sing. In the meantime we'll keep you abreast of the latest rumors.

That said, get a listen to its lovely V8 waking up, below.

Introduce a high powered mid-engine sports car in Times Square with GM CEO driving it (on good authority)is a good idea....duh, no! Just another example of how inept GM marketing is.

Agreed. It's moronic.

So have the electrical issues magically been solved? How about that body flexibility that totals the car if the engine is too powerful? Magically fixed too?

It's not magic. It's called engineering moron.

Can the marketing department. The wing and old man need to go.

Meh, still don't want one.

The body proportions are terrible.

I'll hold my own judgement about proportions until performance footage & specs & a comparo are known.

The NY Auto Show is next week. They decided not to reveal in NY, but to drive around NY promoting the reveal date? Seems like a flip off to the organizers of the show.

Doing a FB live stream from the Nardo Ring going 240mph would be much better than this 15mph drive around NYC.

Let's start a bracket pool to see when the first mid-engine Corvette fires start!

The first year of Pontiac Fiero's were very susceptible to either overheating or having engine fires.

Heat management in mid-engine designs is very tricky and somewhat trial and error, so IMO fires and overheating are likely. Chassis flex on the other hand? That should have easily been solved with AutoCAD

The "old man" driving that C8 Mule is Tadge Juechter and lead Corvette Engineer. Accompanied by his lovely wife I would suspect. He has my respect.

If you were local, I'd broker you one.

Matt: Thanx for the offer. Only thing not available is the funds from my side ... Seriously speaking: I would take a C7 over a C8 from what I am reading about both cars

I continue to think that this should have been a companion model in a Corvette brand and placed above the Stingray.

Matt: It may very well be, if the C7 is not discontinued. I don't know the plans ... do you?

The C7--from what I've heard--has a year at most.

Photos were taken with a wide angle lens with lots of distortion. Makes everything look stretched. Very poor photography for sure.
