DRIVEN + VIDEO: Consumer Reports Dishes On The 2019 Ford Edge β€” Is Its Refresh ENOUGH To Keep Up With The Competition?
For the 2019 model year, Ford has given the Edge some love. Although it's only a refresh, it is a much-needed update in a super competitive sport-utility landscape.

There's just one thing: Is it enough to keep up?

I was following one on the road just the other day and, frankly, it is quite reserved. And, on the inside, it is rather sterile.

Would you pay somewhere around $40,000-50,000 for the 2019 Edge?

Seems like Consumer Reports is pretty happy with the Edge. What say you?

The redesigned 2019 Ford Edge gets sharper handling, improved fuel economy and a host of advanced safety gear. Easy-to-use controls and a functional cabin make the Edge a well-rounded option in the midsize SUV category.

Consumer Reports ranks the BMW 2 series as among the best cars you can buy, period. Sounds pretty legit to me.

It's top SUV pick for 2019? Consumer Reports says the X5, redesigned for 2019, is the best SUV it’s ever tested. Not a Toyota, Honda or Buick - but another BMW.

That moron when to the same school of broadcasting as Doug Demuro where he learned to over-pronounce words and to use a lot of high-pitched vocal expression all while gushing like a high-school cheerleader over the vehicle so as to be a blatant advertisement for it.

As for the Edge, it sells well but for the life of me I don't know why. It offers only a bit more room than an Escape, but costs so much more. The Explorer is better for the money. Nevertheless, these drive off the lot at over $40K right and left.

The Edge isn't ugly but it's boring as hell to look at. I shudder to think what will happen when it migrates to CD6 if the dull and old looking Explorer is evidence of how Ford will do it or worse the hideousness of the new Escape.

I have always been curious about who buys/leases the Edge. Calling it 'average' would be a big compliment.

Hard to Believe but it was what My Sister in Law(My brothers wife) wanted. I offered her any Ford - this was the one she picked - because - of all things - it is low enough to fit into her Garage - which an escape she looked at would not. WE still get the company discount plan - so the price was not an issue. IT is a little more conservative than the Escape - but most definitely more quiet on the road. Picked it up along with her husbands new Explorer last Friday. (He refused a Continental)

Well if you're throwing money around like a drunken fool, buy me a GT500.
