Chinese Xerox or BMW Deja Vu?

Chinese Xerox or BMW Deja Vu?
China’s isolated auto industry has more than 130 national car manufacturers competing for the domestic market. A lack of designers has seen Chinese car companies stealing the design of Western manufacturers for the development of almost identical copy cars. The new Roewe brand can be excluded, as its parent company SAIC owns the rights to the original Rover designs on which its cars are based.

However, BYD CAR is guilty of not only ripping of the designs from several German and Japanese car manufacturers, they’ve gone so far as to copy the famous spinning propeller label from BMW. Now, China’s Shuanghuan has developed its own version of the X5 labeled the CEO. The vehicle blends the rear styling of the BMW SUV with a front end reminiscent of a Toyota Land Cruiser. The CEO rides on older ladder on frame construction sitting on leaf spring suspension, and is considered a modern car in its homeland.

If you own one of these, and you get in a crash, you will die.

I've actually seen this car in person. They did a damn good job. Just think of it as a KIT car instead!

Agent009: Your article have some invalid information, the front of the car does not look like a Toyota. It looks just like the X5 with a chrome grills.

Some owners of this car do put BMW and X5 badge on it. With only a quick glance, making it harder to identify it's true idenity.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK P.R.O.C!!

What is up with Chinese designs....?

Copy and paste. Make it a little bit uglier. I could design better cars myself.

Manufacturers should hire some "soldiers" and blow up the Chinese plants that make this copies. That is the only way.

1. It doesn't have anything close to the spinning propeller. It has a big "S" on the front.

2. It does not look anything like the X5 in the front, WalterMax. Lights and grille are completely different.
