Worth The Wait? Latest Mid-Engined Corvette Render Is Based Off Prototype
For a few months, it looked like Chevrolet was going to unwrap its new mid-engined Corvette at the 2019 New York Auto Show. That didn’t happen, but something C8-related did go down in the Big Apple. Last week, Chevrolet rolled through the city in a camo-wrapped Corvette with camera crews on hand to document the big announcement that a new Corvette was coming on July 18.

If that's accurate, it's terrible.

Matt...Here's the bet if you are up for it. I say the first full year of C8 sales meets or exceeds first full year sales of C7 which were 37,288 in 2014. Loser makes a $50 donation in name of winner to winner's favorite charity.

That's not an even-Steven proposition though and that's why you offered it. Corvette sales were down in anticipation of the C8, but sales of the C7 are showing signs of life as more and more buyers are appalled that the real Corvette is being cancelled in favor of a Fiero. Even-Steven would be first year of C7 vs C8. No matter how clever you think you are, I'll be ahead of you.

Its going to sell based on performance, price and first edition alone.

Not if the $100K base cost report is accurate.

Base cost has been said to be $60-$70K....not $100K

No. In Corvette circles, the current figure is $100K. If they can do it for $60K this will be a massive success.
