Porsche Ponders A 2 Door Panamera To Silence BMW 8 Series And Aston Martin Vantage

Porsche is understood to be developing two-door coupé and cabrio versions of the Panamera designed to rival the BMW 8 Series and Aston Martin Vantage.

According to reports, which senior figures at the firm have not denied, Porsche is developing the two variants of its grand tourer for a planned unveiling next year. The cars are designed to offer enhanced practicality and space over the 911 but still be considered as 2+2s rather than outright four-seaters.

Got to keep up with the competition.

Two door cars do not sell any longer.

A 125% sized 911 will still be too similar. The 928 should have been reborn with with the original Panamera. As well I can't see them making an ICE 2-door car. It will be a 2-door Taycan (tin-can).

I saw the concept rendering & immediately thought...that'll make a real financial case for a new front-engine Porsche (928?)

Tony Montana (928) would approve.

That is ghastly and ungainly looking. Horrible and graceless.

Maybe but it will sell.

I disagree. I think the 911 will sell and the Taycan will sell, but a 928 that looks like the bastard love child of a 911 caricature and the flabby chick Panamera will not do it. If the new 928 looked like the first 928 and in no way attempted to look like a 911, then I might agree. This looks like corn poop.

They only need to market a cabrio - no one will care about the coupe
