So the Tesla turns 11.88 seconds on this track. Big deal. No excitement, no visceral exhilaration, BORING to the core.

These are BS comparisons attempting false equivilancy. Compare a Tesla Model 3 against a more expensive car testing only once facet and hoping you see this as value. How about compare this to a Golf GTI or Type R? These are less expensive cars with far better build quality, nicer interiors and excellent handling. They both acclerate fast enough for most drivers. Why these comparisons do not happen is that the Tesla will possibly lose or only come out slightly ahead (acceleration) nd people will consider the actual value.

Is Top Gear pro-ev? How about a match up against a BMW M3 that's $1k more expensive.

I think we all know how a GTI or Type R would fare.

Unsurprisingly, you do not get my point. BFD, the Tesla, or anything with an electric motor, will accelerate fast due to the nature of electric motors. There is a lot more more to a car than fast acceleration. But these BS comparisons are done to try to paint the Tesla as a competitor for more expesnive cars while ignoring buld quality, luxury amenities, total ownership experience.

In the top gear video it shows the Model 3 beating the M3 in 0-100-0 tests and a lap (cornering etc.). The M3 won in the drifting category. They also mentioned the Model 3 was more practical off track and a lot more comfortable than the M3 and the lack of motor noise made it so that you could hear specific tires on the track to better understand what the car was doing to the road. They also mentioned a new M3 is coming out soon...

The Model 3 laps the track two seconds faster than the M3. That's a world of difference. It takes a lot more than superior acceleration to win by such a large margin. They also mention the Model 3 is much more comfortable on the road - where it will live most if not all of the time. Clear winner in this comparo.

What isn't mentioned is that the Model 3 mined .5 bitcoin while running high 11s on the strip.

And the Tesla can do a Nurbugring lap in 9 minutes. LOL. I can almost bike faster than that.

It can do a lot faster than that. The 9 minute lap had traffic.

The fact that a Model 3 is even in this race is amazing. Have you ever driven a GTR? It's literally the most uncomfortable car to deal with on any basis. A Model 3 is practical and comfortable and can throw up sub 12s. Amazing. Godzilla is exactly that..a dinosaur.
