Upcoming Tesla Roaster To Have 620 Mile Range

The upcoming, all-new Tesla Roadster will have the highest electric range of any production EV ever made. In fact, it's electric range will exceed 1,000, but not in miles.

With the recent range upgrades for the Tesla Model S and Model X, the question of range for the upcoming Roadster has again surfaced.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously touted the Roadster's range as untouchable by any other electric car. When the Roadster was first revealed, the automaker listed its range at 620 miles. That's a figure that's unheard of today.

1,000KM > 620 Miles. Funny. Only the USA, Myanmar and Liberia still use the imperial system of measurement. Go figure.

The funny thing about this thread is the US does not have an official language at the federal level.

"the US does not have an official or national language at the federal level. However, English is considered the official language in 32 states in what has been referred to as “English-only movement.” 30 of the 50 states use English as the official language while Hawaii established both English and Hawaiian as the official language. Alaska recognizes 20 indigenous languages alongside English as official languages. English is also one of the official languages of the territories of the US.

English is the sole language for legislation, regulation, and court rulings. However, the law requires that some documents such as ballots be printed in multiple languages in areas with large number of non-English speakers. English is also taught as a subject at every grade level, even in bilingual institutions. Cumulatively, there are over 230 million English speakers in the US. With over 35 million speakers, the US has the fifth-largest number of Spanish speakers in the world. Other sources estimate Spanish speakers in the country to be 50 million, second-largest after Mexico. Some people consider Spanish a national language and a contender for the official language should there be a need."

Also, it is pretty stupid that we are not on the metric system like the rest of the world. Our systems make little sense and pretty much all scientists use metric in the US.

SanJoseDriver - For every company that EXPORTS products - we are essentially using the metric system. It is not possible to avoid it.

However - we do indeed have several official Languages by law in states and territories - that are not American English - in the USA. When it entered the USA - Hawaii was allowed to keep its language - Puerto Rico officially uses Spanish (Yes - that is part of the USA ) - and there are 20 native Alaska Languages that are official in that state.

Please note that our English language is NOT "England's" language. There has been over 300 years of divergence between us- in england the predominant dialect is Received British English (ALso called the Queens(Kings) English - while ours is actually called American -or American English.

Elon Musk has likely borrowed around one billion dollars against 13.4 million of his TSLA shares. It's possible Musk could face a margin call if the stock goes to the $213 neighborhood. If Musk is unable to provide cash or other collateral, his shares will likely be liquidated. And liquidation of his shares would create downward share pricepressure. A moderate slide inTSLA shares could quickly turn into an avalanche.

I saw this news item too. I suspect US buyers have similar issues with service as I I have read occasional items. However, due to large volume of cars this Chinese company has purchased it brings it into focus.
The growing problem for Tesla is bad press in China where it deperately needs to be successful. There were public protests earlier when Elon dropped the prices shortly after the backlog was filled.

Just something to say so that people who worship Elon will wait for this. Elon, are you taking deposits?

You know that new Model S with 370 miles of range? The Motortrend guys did the full trip from the Bay Area to LA with headwinds, uphill climbs, LA traffic, and AC. They had 11% range left.. could have squeezed out 400 miles easily.

https://www.motortrend.com/news/can-a-tesla-model-s-go-400-miles-on-a-single-charge/

With a 200 kWh battery on a car lighter and more aerodynamic than the Model S, it should be able to get to 700 miles.

Interesting article I just read listing all the exaggerated claims Musk has made in the last 4 years that have not come anywhere close to being true. Add this to the list.

He's delivered on most, albeit super late/delayed. Remember when the Model 3 could never get to production of 5k/week? Now it is the best selling car in its segment for pretty much every country it is in.

This is the one millionth lie from Tesla.
