Should GM Regret Killing The Hummer?
It’s been nearly a decade since the death of General Motors’ off-road brand, Hummer, and while many of you are probably thinking “good riddance,” I’m here to tell you that Hummer was good, and America should forgive it.

In the spirit of Redemption Garage, Jalopnik’s weekly feature devoted to lifting certain cars from the sad part of the human psyche that processes disdain and apathy, I propose a full pardon to the Hummer brand. In fact, I’ll go a step further: Not only should America forgive Hummer, I think, in some ways, America yearns for its return.

Right and Ofcourse they do because now they are killing off sedans, Hummer would be booming right now in a world obsessed with oversized and overpriced SUVs

the industry is booming for unibody CUV's. GM would need to have created a convincing Cadillac version to rival the G-wagen....meaning a helluva lot more refined to be reasonably overpriced.

At the time they had to Stop Hummer - they really had no choice. Large SUVs were not selling - and Hummers were not especially economical with Gas EVER.

One thing Hummer DID have going for it and maybe a reason to bring them back - was that they looked like a Hummer - nothing else did. IT was one of the few SUVs that you could tell from a mile away. Jeep currently also has that benefit from its Government roots.

Now - GM could bring out an Off Road style SUV for GMC if they wanted to. But it still would not be the same. Let Hummer rest in peace - along with the Yugo

even Ford has trouble selling Expeditions today. I doubt they'll even consider revising the Excursion today. too big, ultra low fuel ratings.

Ford does not have trouble selling Expeditions. In fact, sales are quite strong. Given that the Excursion has been discontinued for a long time, there is nothing to revise. You really need to embrace facts when you speak.

Yeah Obama sure observed the constitution as he gave guns to the drug cartel, bribed Iran with cash, funded the rise of ISIS, and let Americans die in Benghazi. Let's not mention colluding with the Russians to sell them our uranium or colluding with them to subvert the 2016 election. Yeah, Obama was a saint.

MD, you have to quit watching Fox. The cash was Iran's invested in the US. By international law, once the US lawsuits were settled the funds had to be repatriated. Since we have no banking arrangements, it had to be cash with no interest paid.
Oh, and Bebghazi was the result of Republicans in Congress cutting security budgets for US embassies - oops.
Obama conspired with Russia?!? You should reread the Mueller report and the 37 indictments and over one dozens guilty pleas.
Or you can just watch when DumbDonnie bends over everytime he is in a room with Putin.

I do not know where you received the misinformation that this was not Iran's money. It was well reported everywhere but Fox, Breitbart and InfoWars. I will forward some links to you.
The Executive branch is required to send a quarterly report on intelligence regarding foreign affairs. tRump has not complied. People are required to appear before congress if subpoena - tRump has instructed his staff to ignore subpoenas - sorry, but this is the law.

In light of GM cancelleing virtually EVERY non-SUV it sells to focus on SUVS (!!!) it would seem to me that nuturing an established and premium SUV brand would be an excellent idea.

Hummer should have / could have been GM's Range Rover or G550. I guess its not too late since they own the brand.

Development dollars would have been much better spent re-introducing Hummer versus doing a mid-engine Corvette.

Except that it was not. The H2 was on a GMc platform that had less room than the GMC version, weighed over 5,000 lbs, had a cheap interior and cost 50 percent more than the similar GMC platform mate. Hummer never had a chance to be RR or even Jeep.
If GM wants to sell expensive SUVs, they should produce them under the Cadillac brand. Their inability to execute this weel would also kill Hummer, which was already dying.

Hummer should come back with a direct hit to Jeep. No H1 needed, just the H2 and H3 and a new, smaller H4. Especially now that Ford will heat up the segment with the Bronco. Toyota should bring back the FJ (and I honestly would heavily consider it) and Nissan the Xterra. Folks are buying 4x4 extend cab pickups in tons, so there is a hefty market for it.

"End of story." Because you're wearing the tiara and YOU say so?
"And to transfer funds in this manner cannot be done thru your Citibank account." You're right. Bribes are usually cash under the table. So, you're saying Iran is incapable of setting up an account to transfer money legally?

Stop kneeling and drinking off the vestigial Obama pole.
