DRIVEN + VIDEO: The Reviews Of The 2020 Toyota Supra Are IN — What Do YOU Think The Word On The Street Is?
Well, Spies. The first judgments are in and they're interesting to say the least.

That's right. The embargo broke for the reviews of the 2020 Toyota Supra. While I haven't watched every single review of the all-new Supra, I did spend some time going through them.

It's funny. Mostly because I've noticed that there's an ongoing thread in some of the first reviews. It seems that at the front or at the back of the reviews, presenters are saying something along the lines of this:

"If you don't spend time thinking about what makes a Supra so and you use that time to drive, you'll love the fifth-generation car."

Are we supposed to forget about the historical context of nameplates now? Or does that thinking just apply to this vehicle? Like I said, it's just funny to me.

Having said that, I wanted to gather together a few reviews. A couple come from big-time automotive publications and a couple come from Doug DeMuro and Matt Farah — both of whom have NO problem telling it how it is.

So, what's the verdict? See below...

I agree 100%.

The irony is that this is what BMW should have done for the Z4 in terms of body configuration and price.

I like it. Up close in the metal it looks dynamic. Should be priced $10,000 less though.

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't hate the looks of it. I'm the target demographic for this car, I'm ok with it being a rebadged BMW, I can afford it, but I won't even test drive it without a manual transmission.

Doesn't like the look, but it seems every review compliments the driving dynamic very well. 0-60 at 4.1 is on par with 718 S, and I'm sure in high performance trim it'll be down to 3+ seconds.

Kudos to Toyota and BMW for pursuing optimal track/wheelbase ratio, and it's remarkable to be able to achieve 50/50 weight distribution with an I6 in such a short wheelbase. Hope to see them continue offering ICE sports cars with this platform.

I simply cannot get over the looks. The only good angle to me is the dead-on profile. All other views are unsightly. Not to mention that it's mimicking an aged design from the BRZ/FR twins.

HANDS DOWN, the BIGGEST disappointment of 2019. What a WASTE of an amazing product name andLegacy. Should have been a poor mans LC, not a rebadged car that even BMW can't sell called the Z4.

First Chevy blows it by putting Blazer name on a mommy mobile and now this.

#sad

Agreed 1000%, 001. The wise choice would have been to leave the Supra legacy alone. Put this powertrain into the RC350 F-Sport without raising the price and they would have finally had a true rival for the 440i, C43 Coupe, and S5 Coupe.

If the Toyota came out before the Kia KCV-3 concept then the Kia would had got accused of copying that front end.
