California Regulators Act Like Three Year Olds - Threaten To Ban All Fossil Fuel Vehicles If They Don't Get Their Own Way

California Regulators Act Like Three Year Olds - Threaten To Ban All Fossil Fuel Vehicles If They Don't Get Their Own Way
California's top environmental regulator is threatening to enact tougher pollution rules that could include a ban on vehicles that burn petroleum-based fuels in retaliation for the Trump administration’s plan to relax vehicle emission standards.

The move -- which would be a first in the U.S. -- marks an escalation in the clash between Washington and Sacramento that would increase uncertainty for carmakers in the nation’s biggest auto market.

California has already gone to court to fight the Trump administration’s determination that current vehicle emission and fuel economy standards are too stringent. Now, California Air Resources Board Chairman Mary Nichols is arguing that the state will match any relaxation of federal auto rules with its own more stringent anti-pollution requirements on everything from fuel to the refineries producing it.

it is extremely unlikely he will win again and if he does he will be impeached.
Obama got the automakers and all 50 states to agree to a common standard.
Private bone spurs did his usual jump into an issue with no understanding.

Actually it's extremely likely that he WILL win again. Biden is a mess. Harris is a racial-token blow-job queen and no one respects her. Bootie Gag LOL as if! Beto the fake Latino O'Rourke, not a chance. Sanders dead and buried.

So far the Dems are running a circular firing squad, so Trump wins by being the last person standing. In New England among democrats Biden polls well ahead of Bernie and Warren (even in MA) and all the others. But the left wing will kill him in the primaries, particularly California. If the Dems run a leftie they lose as they have every time they tried it in the past. The US tends to the center, just moving right or left around it. Biden is all they have in the center.

Private Bone Spurs was hardly the middle. And now with the righteous mullahs in red states stopping abortion even in cases of rape and incest (popular in red states) the fascist Republicans are moving to the far, far right to align with Donny's KKK tendencies.

You have it backwards. Only after GM demonstrated that a modern inverter-driven EV is possible at the LA Auto Show in January 6, 1990 did CARB issue the first ZEV mandate. The "Initial statement of proposed rulemaking for low-emission vehicles and clean fuels" was issued on August 13, 1990. Before that CA was considering a LEV mandate, the GM impact shifted the debate, and CARB added ZEV.

That would be typical of clueless bureaucrats, GM shows a concept car (something that has been done for decades, flying cars anyone) and CARB decides to mandate a “CONCEPT” into law.

One State passess a law to ban safe abortion (no exceptions) another wants to maybe ban ice vehicles. Another considers open carry. Perhaps a review of State's rights is required?

One more time. We are NOT the United STATE of America. We are a republic (see our Pledge of Allegiance) made up of individual states or the United STATES of America. States rights and the protection of smaller states from being bullied by larger states (Senate make up and Electoral College) were key things are founders built into our constitution to keep things in check. California is free to do what it wants as far as its citizens and they can decide if its in their best interest. Just don't push it onto the rest of us unless we want to vote it into our state.

That is the dumbest post I have seen all week.
Go to war with California? One in eleven Americans is a California. If it was a country it would have the 22nd largest GDP in the world, just ahead of Russia. You think all progressive thinkers are in one state?
Compare the average income, educational level, health and life expectancy to the good ol' boy red states. They already are third world. They make the mullahs in Iran look reasonable.
The problem with your thinking is that if every state has different regulations for large durable goods, say a car, then it is a nightmare for manufacturers. But DumbDonnie does not understand this.
And the best negotiation technique is not to constantly threaten.
No wonder he lost so much money and had 4 bankruptcies.
Now, if you good ol' boys in the deep south where income levels and education are the worst in the country want to succeed, well this time I think we'll let you.

California is perpetually on the brink of being insolvent and the people here are held hostage with excessive taxation. The day after Trump wins next fall, it's time to bitch slap California.

Step 1: Have ICE run rampant in sanctuary cities.
Step 2: Arrest all public officials who break immigration enforcement.
Step 3: Prevent California from being able to set its own emission standards.
Step 4: Make the USA a right to work nation.

Wait, prevent CA from making it's own emission standards? Is that not a states right?
Also, the Obama administration has one emission standard for the country.

Dumbass, the Obama administration is not in the White House.

Allowing California to make its own rules essentially give all decision power to 1/50th of the states. #illogical

See, Obama HAD a 59 state standard until the piss haired doted threw it out.
And you math, 1/50th of the states is BS, it is 1/9 th of the population and 12 percent of the GDP. The 8 poorest states are all MAGA country. I guess repulifascist policies ain't wotkin' so good for them all.
Not all states are equal.

The DeMoncrats always point to how much money California makes, but they NEVER focus on the fact that the state budget is routinely out of money. On welfare to illegal aliens, California spends the most and they spend more than with the next 6 highest spending states allocate for people who are breaking international law. That is just one example.

Unless the Russians cooperative with the tRump campaign I predict a sizable win. He is already more popular in Pennsylvania, with labor and now with the reckless tariffs, farmers.
