Acura Throws $20,000 In Incentives On The Hood Of The 2018 NSX
It’s hardly a secret that we really like the new NSX around here. It’s also not really a secret that Acura is having a hard time moving units of the quick hybrid supercar. In 2018, across the whole year, Acura only managed to sell 170 examples, and despite a revamp for the 2019 model year sales remain slightly soft. Acura really wants to move NSXs that have been piling up, and according to Intellichoice it is offering $20,000 in buying incentives.

It has nothing to do with percentages.. Any manufacture can overprice a vehicle and then show "Big Discounts" to sell them which is really just getting the vehicle to the price it should have been in the first place which has been the #1 tactic of the domestics for years. All they know how to do is price cars well above market and then show huge discounts so people think they are getting this great deal its nothing special..

THe problem is - I will bet that they did not price the NSX high enough to actually take a huge hit due to low volume (or even if they priced it for profit at all).

This thing might have had a chance if it was priced around $100k when it first came out. Now, no hope.

The NSX has always been a textbook example of what not to do. Both generations have been too expensive for their brand cache.

They should just bite the bullet and stop making it and use the plant for something else. It was a mistake. Own up to it and move on. Or make a version without the battery and electric motors. Maybe it will be more profitable.
