Yikes! Audi Q-7 Splits In HALF During High Speed Crash In Russia

An Audi Q7 was split in half during a brutal crash in Russia and remarkably, the driver didn’t just survive without serious injuries, but they also ran away from the scene.

Images of the crash were shared online by a number of Russian media outlets. While limited written details about the crash are known, images from the scene provide a good indication as to what happened.

Allegedly, the luxurious SUV slammed sideways into a large metal lamp post on the side of the road. The impact likely occurred roughly in the center of the Q7, tearing it in two. Evidently, the crash occurred at high speed and at least one of the middle row seats was ejected from the vehicle.

They are designed to split to shed energy of the crash and save lives.

Does Tesla know about this?

I think that is how the carbon tub cars work. An Aventador hit a pole a while back. Everything behind the passenger cell was gone and quite a distance from the remaining car. The aluminum structure that holds the engine and the suspension just snaps off in the impact.I think what you see here with the Audi is physics in action.

Wow, that is one of the most bizarre auto crash images I have ever seen.

I'm not an engineer, but I think it would be better if the car stays in one piece during a crash?

Audi, the Art of Engineering (?!?!?!?!?!?!?)

This is a horrific failure and the Audi boys here are trying to recast it into a virtue. The car is designed to shatter into pieces for your safety. #nonsense

In the article, all the passenger's and the driver all walked away. I think the Audi did its job just fine.

Goes to show Audi did good job with engineering. Everyone walked away. If it was a Tesla, it would of burned, period.
