OFFICIAL: Cadillac Will Reveal TWO All-new Vehicles On May 30 — CT4-V And CT5-V
Cadillac is trying its best to make moves. Although the company started to show some promise with its previous generation vehicles, the latest additions have left us perplexed. They're not particularly stunning like the Ciel, Elmiraj or even the Escala.

Frankly, they kind of just suck.

The XT6 launch was a pretty massive disappointment. And then came the CT5. Neither are a major step forward for the legendary brand.

Simply put, they're just more of the same old. And it's sort of sad especially when we see what could be possible if Cadillac wanted to really move the needle.

Right around the corner are two new model debuts. Slated for May 30, we'll be seeing the CT4-V and CT5-V.

The CT4 is the ATS replacement. THINK: Small, entry-level luxury sedan.

The CT5 is its bigger sibling, which had a 2019 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) debut. In V trim, the sky's the limit.

Cadillac introduced the CT5 at the New York Auto Show in April, and in just one week, it'll unveil a much faster version of the same sedan alongside an even newer, smaller sibling. But before we dive into all that power, Cadillac wanted to take a look back to see what brought it here.

Cadillac on Thursday announced that it will debut the CT4-V and CT5-V in Detroit on May 30, one day before the annual Detroit Grand Prix kicks off on Belle Isle. At the same time, Cadillac pointed out that its V-Series cars have been kicking for 15 years now. Some of them have been weird, others have been pretty darn righteous, and it'll be interesting to see where these two cars take it next...

I'll bet the CT5V is being introduced because of the scathing review of the CT5 and they are like "Oh shit! Put out the powerful model so that this is not our Edsel moment."

Their other Edsel moment is that silly-ass C-Pillar treatment in a desperate attempt to be different. Pitiful.

Looks like a CTS and a Model 3 had a baby.

Rename the CT6 the Elmiraj and promote the living hell out of it.
Name the CT4 the Seville and promote the living hell out of it.
Produce the Escala faithfully as an EV

WHen they decided to resurrect the brand, the rise of the SUV/CUV was just beginning and at that time they spent their money on a honey of a Platform - the Alpha. THe "objective" was to produce cars that could compete with the best that Germany had to offer. And the Alpha Platform was about as good as you could get - and it has now had some time to continue to get better. But no one predicted just how fast the SUV would take over - replacing even the best of the sedans.

So while others brought out more SUVS - GM spent on another - larger - sedan Platform - the Omega. I had one of those and it was truly a great experience - certainly up to ITS task - but that put GM even further behind the SUV explosion.

THat leads up to today - where what we need is a premium CUV platform - probably based on the OMEGA platform - but THAT is not in the plans for GMs new group of 4 main platforms for all but real trucks. The move to Crossovers has left MOST manufacturers still trying to catch up - and it will again take a while unless we have an Oil crisis of some type that returns people to cars.

However - they have returned to offering bigger cars than each class - and that might help for a while.

Thank you for that verbal diarrhea that began nowhere, went nowhere, and ended nowhere. Truly shitacular.

GM is still asleep at the switch...!!

While Lincoln is producing "Best in Show" suv crossovers (Navigator, Aviator and Corsair)... Caddy is producing blah crossovers in XT456... Rebadged Buicks at best with over $10 Billion invested... Where? Not more V cars that sell at deep discount..!

If I want a BMW M performance car.. I'm buying the original = BMW... Not Caddy!!

It didn't work before... Why should it now?... That's in insanity GM.... DUH...!!

Lincoln is dead on accurate with its aim. Yes the CT6 is better than a Continental, but the Continental knows how to do American luxury right and they did pretty good with their Fusion Hail Mary. I enjoyed my Continental. The Aviator is amazing in person.

YUP - Lincoln is sure "DEAD" with its aim!!!
Sold 1355 Continentals first Quarter - only 44% down from the year before - seems the market has decision was a CLEAR MISS.

And complaining that Cadillac XTs are rebadged Buicks - when Lincolns are rebadged Fords is also a miss.

The problem - is that neither Ford nor GM planned for new Premium Platforms for Crossovers - and neither really compete with their current offerings in comparison to the other Premiums. Fact is - virtually everyone was caught flat footed in this race. At least Cadillac DID produce premium Platforms for the cars - and did not adapt older FWD platforms like FORD did. However - reliance on old FWD platforms for their cars will doom Lincoln Cars.

Tom, I see your point, the difference is execution, a traditional GM weakness. I want Cadilac to succeed, but they have to do better.
The new Lincoln SUVs are far more differentiated from Fords than Cadillacs are from GM and Chevy.
The Nautilus and Corsair look like luxury vehicles and have more powerful engine options.
The front of the XT6 looks like the Blazer with the same drivetrain as every other GM crossover.

Wait, I thought they created the CT5 as a replacement for both the ATS and CTS. The CT5 is going to be a HUGE disappointment. can't even imagine what the CT4 is going to bring..or not bring.
