The Tesla Model S Performance Now Able To Run The Quarter Mile In The 10 Second Range
The Tesla Model S has been one of the most subtle kings of the drag strip for some time, blowing the doors off nearly everything in its path from a dig with little resistance. Now, thanks to a few key updates, Tesla is becoming even more predatory to even the most hardened track veterans by entering the 10-second quarter mile straight from the factory.

As a vehicle platform matures, engineers often make decisions that better the platform. For most automakers, this often includes a mid-cycle refresh with a few software tweaks, or perhaps a revised powerplant that pumps out a few extra ponies.

Hats off, I have yet to see any vehicle under half a million give the model S competition from standstill and this vehicle has been out since 2012.

Let’s go Germans, you are being beat at your own game.

If the next Gen E 63 and M5 can’t keep up with a generation old car, send them back to the factory and try again

I think we'll see more improvements over the next year as well. If they switch over to Model 3 batteries, they can add about 100 horespower on the existing powertrain and drop the weight by 200 lbs, while increasing range by 3-4%. Honestly I'm shocked they haven't done this already... probably sandbagging to release it right when the Taycan goes for sale.

Above is a well written article about how tesla will die.
Spoiler alert, someone will come after the brand, the only part of any real value.

There is more to a car than acceleration.
Their case burn rate is faster than their cars.

Lol acceleration isn’t everything but knowing your family sedan can keep up with or outrun a Lamborghini aventador on the way to the grocery store is certainly something

fast acceleration is great but the discharge rate is also great.

There is less of a penalty for short fast driving on EVs than ICE cars. The opposite is true on the track, but EVs are catching up there as well.

Exactly, this is how Tesla advertises... by beating out much more expensive exotic cars with a family sedan.

Hopefully a Baldwin Motion, a Yenko or a Shelby come along and help Tesla out with some go fast goodies.
