Tesla Targets F-150 With A Sub $50,000 MSRP For New Pickup
Elon Musk made interesting new comments about the upcoming Tesla Pickup truck, including a first hint at the starting price, which he aims to keep under $50,000, and some of the functionality.

Tesla’s CEO has previously sought suggestions for features to add to the Tesla truck under development and he revealed some planned features, like an option for 400 to 500 miles of range, Dual Motor All-wheel-drive powertrain with dynamic suspension, as well as ‘300,000 lbs of towing capacity’.

During an appearance on Ride the Lighting podcast this weekend, Musk made some new comments about the upcoming electric pickup truck.

Does anyone even listen to his price promises anymore?

How big is this thing gonna be?

"...seat six people and be large enough to carry a competitor's fullsize truck in its bed...", was a couple earlier rumors. Maybe the Tesla pickup will fit in a competitor's cargo bed.

300,000 lbs towing capacity?

Haha...this guys statements get more ridiculous by the day. His $50K pickup is kind of like the $35K Model 3. Towing 300K lbs means some stunt where the thing tows an airplane for a hundred feet. This will probably get him in hot water with the SEC again for making materially false statements.

The $35k Model 3 that you can buy today and includes about $3k in upgrades that were never promised in the past? If that is the case then yes, a $49k truck is very likely.

I realize you're paid to say shit like that because you suck up to Elon, but no one believes anything you say because you refuse to see Tesla authentically.

I'm not paid by Tesla, and yes I'm a little bit biased. Aren't you a little biased towards your favorite sports team?

The $35k Model 3 is a fact. You can walk into a store and order one now. In fact, they can now software nerf any SR+ model into the $35k variant.

Would love to see the Tesla truck (or cars) navigate through the flooded roads in the midwest. Can you say "short circuit!"

You can watch plenty of videos of the Model S driving through flooded areas.. the battery is sealed.

Tesla stock closed at $178/share today. His last capital raise recently was at $243/share. Those investors just lost 1/3 of their money in just 2 months. Bonds are at nearly 9 percent. Elon cannot add new models without another large capital raise. I doubt he could fool people again.

How about dependable and requires maintenance every 4 years or so.. that is what I think they will shoot for in the truck. Likely they will use all the key parts from the Model 3 with great longevity like the battery and motors.

Folks that buy pickups want a work truck that is dependable and easily fixed at any mom and pop mechanic. They're not looking for a electric truck that can only be charged in certain places and has to be fixed by Tesla service centers. The segment that would buy a Tesla pickup are the ones who want the image of a pickup but not the utility of a pickup.

Bingo. It's interesting what sometimes drives into a Ford dealer by the way.

Haters will keep on hating, but the company isn't getting any smaller. Every day there are more cars on the road and more people championing the brand.

So let's see
So the Kia Imagine EV conc6was unveiled first. But was confirmed to go into production. When that Kia does go into production, it will be accused of copying that roof line off the Telsa. And when people on here will accuse Kia's Imagine EV roofline copying the Telsa pick up people will forget the Kia concept was unveiled first so how they copy?

Oh ok. So no one is going to bring up the Telsa's backend of ripping off the Civic's but when the 2020 Sonata was unveiled it did.
